The Study on Integrated Urban Construction Archive Management SystemBased on GIS is source from a research project of state science and technology during5 year-plan of the 10th in the Construction Ministry of China. Depending on thebusiness routines of Beijing Urban Construction Archives, by mean of analysis of theurban construction archive management information and the spatial information,discuss the methods of Integrated Urban Construction Archive Management SystemBased on GIS.The Author studied on building the spatial database for the urban constructionarchive management system, and put forth the method that integrate GIS and existedMIS of the urban construction archive for displaying, querying and managing thespatial data effectively, as to make the information and management of urbanconstruction archive visualization, atomization and standardization.Urban Construction Archive Management System is not only an applicationsystem about GIS, but also the system concerning the application of OA and MIS.According to the requirements of business routine of the urban construction archive,the research abstracted the general application module for information system in theorganization and explained the workflow access to data, applications, procedures andservices. With development of integrated application function modules of GIS, OAand MIS and extension of the application function of special GIS component, thegeneration component GIS integrates closely the existed management informationsystem (MIS) of urban construction archive and a routine business managementworkflow unit of urban construction archive, and also, adopt an embedded large-scalespatial database engine to implementation huge amount of spatial data, attribute dataand other archive data. Finally, the integration of GIS, MIS and OA is realized to theurban construction archive management system.In addition, the metadata platform is used to design a framework of synthesismanagement system for city planning files, municipal construction files and urbanconstruction archives;and Web GIS technology is taken to publish and search theurban construction archive information on Internet, as well as sharing information ofurban construction archives that are distributed in different areas.
