Clinical Observation Of Kaiyu Jianpi Prescription In The Treatment Of Senile Irritable Bowel Syndrome-diarrhea Complicated With Anxiety And Depression

Objective:To observe the effectiveness of Kaiyu Jianpi Prescription combined with Dailixin in the treatment of senile Irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea(liver depression and spleen deficiency type)complicated with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.Methods:A total of 60 patients who met the diagnosis and inclusion criteria and were admitted to the outpatient department and ward of the Geriatrics Department of The Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2019 to December 2021 were randomly divided into 2 groups with 30 patients in each group using a randomized single-blind controlled clinical trial method,The control group was given oral compound glutamine enteric-soluble capsule combined with Dailixin,and the experimental group was given Kaiyu Jianpi Prescription combined with Dailixin for 8 weeks.The anxiety and depression screening scale and TCM symptom rating table were recorded before and after treatment,the score changes of the two groups before and after treatment were compared and statistically analyzed.Results:After 8 weeks of treatment,scores of anxiety and depression scale and total scores of TCM symptoms in 2 groups were decreased,and there were statistically significant differences within and between groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).However,compared with the control group,the score of the experimental group decreased more significantly,and the clinical effect was better,especially in improving the difference in appetite,hypochondrium distending pain,emotional abnormalities,insomnia,multiple dreams,belching,acid swallowing,fatigue,bitter mouth and dry throat.Conclusion:Both the experimental group and the control group could improve the patients’ anxiety and depression state and relieve the clinical symptoms of Irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea(liver depression and spleen deficiency type).However,compared with the control group that only used patent medicine and western medicine,the experimental group used TCM Kaiyu Jianpi Prescription combined with western medicine to improve the symptoms of patients were more obvious.These results suggest that Kaiyu Jianpi Prescription combined with Dailixin is a safe and effective method for the treatment of Irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea,which is worthy of clinical reference and application.
