A Study On Cross-media Narration Of Letter-theme Television Programs

Since 2012,there has been a boom in cultural TV programs.From CCTV to local TV stations,some cultural programs with good reputation and high ratings have been showing up,such as Trust in China,Letters Alive,The Chinese Poetry Conference and Readers.These programs take traditional cultural resources as the core to construct TV program texts through different narrative methods.In the digital technology-based information age,the fusion trend of different media forms in the media industry is becoming more and more obvious.The production of TV programs is inextricably linked with the new digital technology,and is integrated with other media forms.In 2003,MIT professor Henry Jenkins proposed the concept of “transmedia narrative”.In 2006,Jenkins elaborated convergence culture and the connotation of transmedia narrative in his published book“Convergence Culture”.The core of Jenkins' s theory is that different media platforms jointly develop and produce media content.A transmedia story world is presented by multiple media platforms and media means.Different texts are interrelated and each text makes a unique contribution to the entire story.Trust in China and Letters Alive take epistolary carrier as the basic medium for storytelling.At the same time,it is carried out by integrating digital media technology,actors' body demonstrations,music sound effects and other media forms,to jointly construct the story world presented by the letters.These two TV programs present a distinctive transmedia narrative feature.In the perspective of media fusion and transmedia narrative,this paper analyzes the ways and meanings of transmedia narrative construction of Trust in China and Letters Alive.This paper first analyzes the intertextuality between the letter language and the audio-visual art.In the perspective of intertextuality,this paper analyzes the transmedia fusion characteristics of the ontology narrative of the letters.By selecting different types of letters,this paper analyzes the intertextual relationship between the discourse ontology of the letters and the existence of the image language,and analyzes the fusion manifestation of the reading text of the letters and the "presence" of the stage space.This paper selects specific object and analyzes it from montage narrative techniques of time-space interaction,the literary function of letter language and the interactiverelationship of music symbol functions.The actor's body demonstration is a form of media expression with the rhetorical effect of participating in storytelling.The two TV programs invited well-known film and television actors to read the letter.As a kind of image symbol,the star actor's body is the carrier of TV vision and the focus of the audience.Its body symbol has a metaphorical function,with intuitive visual stimulation and sensual aesthetic enjoyment.This paper analyzes the metaphorical characteristics of the star image and the performance characteristics of the body language narrative,and explores the rhetorical effects produced by the combination of the letter language ontology and the body media narrative.The two TV programs present the multi-dimensional narrative characteristics of the life story narrative in letters,the stage space narrative and the host and guest's commentary narrative.The host and the letter-opening guest supplement narrative to the letter content from the perspectives of historical background,writers' personality and related experiences.The host and the guest's interpretations point to the meaning of constructing the TV text.The TV program recalls the individual memory of the letter's owner through letter narrative,thereby awakening the collective memory and achieving the purpose of emotional transmission and cultural identity.In the narrative of the heroes' war stories and the communists' vivid deeds,a national spirit and homeland feelings are constructed,and the nation's beliefs and ideals are constructed from individual life narratives of many historical figures.Letters scattered in the folk can be constructed in tandem to create a historical epitome of a nation and country's development.In the narrative of the heroes' war stories and the communists' vivid deeds,a national spirit and homeland feelings are constructed,as well as a nation's beliefs and ideals which are constructed from individual life narratives of many historical figures.Letters scattered in the folk witness the history of the nation and country's development.And the TV programs shape the image of the nation and the country through letter narratives,which pointing to cultural Identity.
