From Private To Public:Construction Of Collective Memory In Letters Alive

With the homogenization of Reality Show and Variety Show,TV programs have begun to seek new ways of development in recent two years.Mass media is focusing on traditional Chinese culture,so the Chinese Poetry Competition,the Chinese Idiom Conference and Chinese Characters Dictation Competition appeared.these original program are based on the traditional Chinese culture,create different landscapes in the various arts.On the one hand,they promote the people's love of traditional culture.On the other hand,they reconstruct the collective memory of the audience by using electronic media.Letters Alive is just one of these original various shows.Letters Alive chose letter which is a Chinese traditional communication tool.As a private medium,letters played an important role in ancient and even in recent society.However with the development of the modern medium,letters gradually recede from people's life.It can be said that the letter contains a strong sense of attachment and collective memory.How to use this traditional medium to awaken and construct the collective memory of the masses,so that in order to better understand the construction of the collective memory in Letters Alive,the first chapter in this article is about the program itself and its A brief introduction was made to the background,which helped us to better grasp the production of the program objectives and contents of Letters Alive.At the same time taking into account the characteristics of the privacy of the media as opposed to the mass media stage,the third chapter of the thesis focuses on how to eliminate the privacy of the letters and make them suitable for discussion on the public stage.The study found that the setting of stage space and the use of audiovisual symbols in the production of Letters Alive have broken through the time positioning of letters in the history and reality;and the concept of programming and the choice of letters are all starting from the moment.Considering the practical significance of letters,these operations have greatly diminished the privacy of the letters.The elimination of privacy is the basis for the construction of a collective memory with Letters Alive.B ased on this,the fourth chapter of the thesis will analyze how the Letters Alive builds the form of the program from two aspects of theatrical symbols and ceremonial communication.Content to build the collective memory of the masses.In analyzing the ceremonial dissemination of the program,this article demonstrates how the program achieves the meaning of the program through the interaction of the tripartite guests,the audience,and the open-trust guests,thus constructing the collective memory of the audience.At the same time,in the case of Letters Alive,it is to build a collective memory through a communication ceremony.It needs to be constructed and reproduced through specific sensible symbols.Therefore,the use of audio-visual symbols in the Letters Alive to make the program more humane care.While enjoying the audio-visual feast,the audience subtly walked into the narrative framework of the program.The fifth chapter puts forward two reflections on the construction of collective memory in Letters Alive on the basis of the previous research.First,no matter whether the content productions of the program or the viewer's attitude to the program,it is inseparable from the logic of consumerism.The pursuit of economic efficiency in the production of programs requires that the attention and thinking of the audience are often on the surface,failing to achieve the purpose of the program's attempt to read the history of the homeland with a letter;on the other hand,"see words like noodles",whether from the concept or the letter of the show.The screening or the interpretation of letters is carried out under the logic of the "central view".Therefore,the program inevitably displays the characteristics of space-time disorder in the process of constructing collective memories,and this collective memory is also fragmented.
