BackgroundBased on the background of high incidence of stroke and the "healthy China 2030" planning outline of focusing on and improving the health literacy level of focus groups as the important measures to improve people's health level, this study focused on the major diseases in the field of public health--stroke,concentrated on the key element of health literacy--health information literacy and researched on the health information literacy,stroke-related knowledge level and health behavior of stroke patients to provides theoretical basis for improving the health information literacy level of stroke patients, improving their knowledge of stroke-related knowledge and behavior.ObjectiveFirstly,we investigated the health information literacy status and explored the main influencing factors to provide theoretical basis for improving the patient's health information literacy level. And then we investigated the stroke-related knowledge level and the health behavior of stroke patients, analyzed the correlation between them and health information literacy to provide theoretical support for improving the patient's stroke-related knowledge level and health behavior.MethodsWe used the cross-sectional survey method to carry out research.we chose 420 stable stroke patients with definite diagnosis as the research objects by using convenient sampling and used the basic information questionnaire, disease related information questionnaire, stroke health information literacy questionnaire,stroke-related knowledge questionnaire and health behavior questionnaire as research tools to investigate. And we used SPSS 22.0 software to analyze data.Counting data were described by frequency and composition ratio, while measurement data were described by mean and standard deviation. The independent sample t-test,one-way anova method and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of health information literacy. And the Spearman-related analysis was used to analyze the correlation between health information literacy and stroke-related knowledge level, health behavior.Results1.The general information of stroke patients: in this study,a total of 392 effective samples were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 93.33%.Among them, there were 248 males(63.26%)and 144 females(36.74%).The mean age of the patients was(60.79±8.56)years old.In terms of information acquisition ability,38.26% of the patients had a poor use of traditional media.80.61% of the patients had a poor use of books and magazines.53.06% of the patients had a poor use of mobile devices.Among the disease diagnoses, the patients with cerebral infarction were the most(92.86%),followed by cerebral hemorrhage(6.63%)and subarachnoid hemorrhage(0.51%).2.The level of health information literacy and its influencing factors of stroke patients: the overall score of stroke patients' health information literacy was(59.48±10.39).And the scores of each dimension were health information awareness(12.57±3.00),health information acquisition(8.48±2.49),health information understanding(11.51±3.11),health information evaluation(17.13±3.47),and health information application(9.79±3.30).From the single factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis,we learned that the influence factors of health information literacy including individual's marital status(Beta:0.128,P:0.001),place of residence(Beta:0.171,P<0.001),family per capita income(Beta:0.077,P:0.0444),the application of mobile devices(Beta:0.183,P<0.001),the degree of understanding of stroke-related knowledge(Beta:0.285,P<0.001),the access to relevant information(Beta:0.148,P:0.001),acquisition intention(Beta:0.164,P<0.001)and the awareness of Internet methods(Beta:0.137,P:0.001).3.The current status of stroke-related knowledge, health behavior and their correlation with health information literacy: the patient's correct answer rate to the basic knowledge of stroke was 46.20%,and the overall score of rehabilitation knowledge was(34.01±15.29).The overall score of the patient's health behavior was(42.13±6.36).The scores of health information literacy were significantly positively correlated with the scores of basic knowledge and rehabilitation knowledge of stroke(r-s ranged from 0.141 to 0.685,P<0.01).The score of health information literacy was positively correlated with the score of behavior style(r-s ranged from 0.253 to 0.572,P<0.01).Conclusions1.From the dimensions and overall scores of health information literacy of stroke patients in Xinxiang city,we learned that all the scores are lower than the evaluation results of stroke patients in Shanghai city, and the level of health information literacy need to be improved.2.From the influencing factors of health information literacy,we learned that divorced or separated patients, patients living in rural areas and patients with low family income are the people with low level of health information literacy, which should be the focus of health education.3.From the correlation between stroke-related knowledge level, health behavior and health information literacy level,we learned that improving knowledge and health information literacy level through health education can help to improve patients' bad behaviors.
