Objective:To know about the status quo of emotional intelligence and core com petence in registered nurses in the three-A hospitals of Anhui,analyzes the relations between emotional intelligence and core competence,to explore the influence factors of the core competence from thetwo aspects of the general information and emotional intelligence,so as to provide the basis for improving their emotional intelligence ang core competence.Method: A total of 880 registered nurses received survey by using Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale(WLEIS)and Competency Inventory for Registered Nurse Scale(CIRNS).Descriptive analy,t test,ANOVA,Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression were performed to analyze general information,emotional intelligence and core competence of registered nurses.Result:(1)The emotional intelligence gross score of registered nurses was(56.72±7.95)and the total entries average score was(3.55±0.50).The dimension of self-emotion assessment got the highest score that was(3.83±0.55),The dimension of others emotion assessment got the lowest score,which was(3.36±0.68).(2)The core competence gross score of registered nurses was(167.54±34.30)and the total entries average score was(2.89±0.59).The dimension of ethical&law practice got the highest score that was(3.11±0.66),The dimension of critical thinking&the capacity for scientific research got the lowest score,which was(2.76±0.61).(3)The single factor analysis showed that,there were statistically significant difference in the emotional intelligence among working-age,The first academic,professional title,position,department,annual income,marital status,employment way and hospital category(P<0.05);there were statistically significant difference in the emotional intelligence among whether going out for further education/training,hobby,present/served as a teacher and publish an article of the first author(P<0.05);there were statistically significant difference in the emotional intelligence among varying degrees care satisfaction,professional interest and health condition(P<0.01).(4)The single factor analysis showed that,there were statistically significant difference in the core competence among working-age,The first academic,professional title,position,department,annual income,marital status,employment way and hospital category(P<0.05);there were statistically significant difference in the core competence among whether going out for further education/training,hobby,present/served as a teacher and publish an article of the first author(P<0.05);there were statistically significant difference in the core competence among varying degrees care satisfaction,professional interest and health condition(P<0.05).(5)The Pearson correlation analysis results indicate,The total emotional intelligence and each dimension had positive correlation with core competence of registered nurses(r=0.292~0.416,P<0.01).(6)Multiple regression analysis results indicate,hospital category,working-age,present/served as a teacher,professional interest,self-emotion assessment,self-emotion use and others emotion assessment.In the decreasing order,influence factor with core competence of registered nurses were others emotion assessment,self-emotion use,working-age,professional interest,self-emotion assessment,present/served as a teacher and hospital category.Conclusion: emotional intelligence in a higher level level,core competence at a medium level in the registered nurses.The registered nurses core competence are influenced byworking-age,The first academic,professional title,position,department,annual income,marital status,employment,hospital category,going out for further education/training,publish an article of the first author,care satisfaction,professional interest and health condition.emotional intelligence of clinical registered nurses were,the more prominent the performance of core competence were.hospital category,working-age,present/served as a teacher,professional interest,self-emotion assessment,self-emotion use and others emotion assessment were predictor variable of core competence in clinical registered nurses.The higher the emotional the nursing managers should intervention to cultivate the emotional intelligence of nurses,so as to improve their level of core competence.
