Research backgroundWith the rapid development of medical technology and the improvement of living standards,people's demand for health care is increasing,the requirements of nurse' stability is also put forward higher,the original functional nursing has been unable to meet the clinical needs,instead of the responsibility system nursing,which requires nurses to master multi-disciplinary,multi professional knowledge,skills,improve their ability and comprehensive quality,implement holistic nursing care based on people-oriented,improve the clinical nursing quality and patient satisfaction.Research purposesTo investigate the status core competency of registered nurses who work in the public hospitals of Daiyue District Hospital of Tai'an City,compare of levels and characteristics of core competence of department,analysis its influencing factors,put forward measures and suggestions to improve the core competence of nurses,and provide a theoretical basis for nursing teaching and management.Research methodsIn accordance with the method of cluster sampling,a questionnaire survey of the registered nurses in 19 public hospitals of Tai'an city Daiyue District,the questionnaire was divided into two parts,the first part is the general information;the second part is the test,the core competence of registered nurse scale application compiled by Dr.Liu Ming(Competency Inventory for Registered Nurse,CIRN),from critical thinking and scientific research,clinical care,leadership,interpersonal relationship,legal/ethical practice,professional development,investigation of the 7 dimensions of core competence education consulting.The application of EXCEL2003 to data entry and analysis of SPSS 17.0 statistical analysis software,using descriptive statistics,x2test,t test,linear regression analysis,P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.630 questionnaires were distributed,615 were recovered,the recovery rate of 97.62%,604 valid questionnaires,efficiency of 95.87%.Main resultsThe average self rating score of nurses core competence in Daiyue District of public hospital of Tai'an city was 159.28 + 33.83,the score of seven dimensions are:the clinical nursing is 28.71 ±6.23,leadership is 26.53±5.93,ethical/legal practice is 24.42±5.25,relationships is 23.45±5.19,critical thinking/scientific research is 21.95±5.18,education consulting is 17.20±4.15,professional development is 17.02 ±4.02.The comprehensive score of the core competencies of nurses in different grades hospitals and scores,the highest score is the two general hospitals,the lowest score is the maternal and child health hospital.Among the departments of the core competencies of nurses comprehensive scores and scores of each dimension,the highest score is the medicine,the lowest score is the pediatrics.The comprehensive score of the core competence of nurses with different working years scores,the highest score is the nurses who have work 16-20 years,the lowest score is the nurses who have work 1-5 years.Nurses employment overall score and each dimension score,the highest score is the nurses,followed by the contract the nurse,the lowest score is temporary.The different levels of nurses,nurses' score differences exist between total scores and scores,level,higher professional title,the higher the score of nurses' core competence through linear regression.Regression analysis showed that:the main factors that affect the core competence of nurses are whether to teach,how to employ and the average number of night shift.Conclusions and suggestionsThe nurses in Daiyue District of Tai'an city public hospital core competence is in the middle level,their critical thinking and scientific research dimensions of low scores,different hospitals,age,tenure,employment,title,department level,the average monthly income and other factors influence the core competency level.The hospital should pay attention to on-the-job training,the implementation of It differs from man to man training.Promote the low ability of nurses to grow as quickly as possible to meet the clinical needs.
