Objective:The purpose of this study was to identify the main chronic diseases and to provide the scientific evidence for formulating the policy related to non-communicable disease(NCDs)prevention and control through analyzing the mortality, constituent ratio, and other index from the year of 2016 in Jilin Province,China.Method:1.The demographic data and life expectancy came from the sixth National Population Census. The information of death data during 2016 in Jilin Province was from“The death case registry system of national center for disease prevention and control”.2.The data was collected by EXCEL software, and the mortality, constituent ratio, and other index were analyzed by SPSS 24.0 software.Theχ~2 test was used to analysis the constituent ratio for cause of death at the significant levelα=0.05.Life table method was used to estimate the loss of life expectancy that caused by chronic diseases.3.Before the analysis, data had been checked and proofread.Results:1.The mortality rate of residents with chronic diseases was 603.08/10~5 compared to the standardized mortality rate of 510.63/10~5,which accounted for 91.80%of all deaths. The mortality rate of female residents was 448.00/10~5 while the male was571.79/10~5,(χ~2=737.680,P<0.001).The mortality rate of chronic diseases increased annually over the last 25 years, meanwhile,it rose rapidly after age 60 and peaked at70~80 years old.The chronic disease mortality rate(626.26/10~5)in areas with high urbanisantion rate was found higher than the low urbanisantion rate area(587.92/10~5),(χ~2=23.506,P<0.001).2.The top 10 leading causes of chronic death in Jilin Province were circulatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, respiratory diseases, digestive diseases, endocrine and nutritional metabolic diseases, urinary system diseases, nervous system diseases, benign neoplasms, mental diseases, and congenital abnormalities. The top 3 diseases accounted for 91.88%of all chronic diseases.Below the age of 15,top 3 deaths were congenital anomalies, malignant neoplasms, and neurological diseases;for age 15 to60 they were circulatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, and digestive diseases;for age 60 and above, they were circulatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, and respiration system diseases. The top 3 leading causes of death due to chronic disease in high urbanisantion rate areas were circulatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, and digestive diseases, while in the areas with low urbanisantion rate, they were circulatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, and respiratory diseases.3.Potential years of life loss(PYLL)of chronic diseases was 379,292.40person-years,and average years of life loss(AYLL)was 15.57 person-years.4.Premature mortality from the top four chronic disease in 2016 was 19.67%,with 25.09%of male and 14.03%of female.Conclusion:1.The proportion of death from the chronic diseases in Jilin Province during2016 was higher than the national level, while the standardized mortality rate was lower than the national level in 2012.2.The mortality rate of chronic diseases for male was higher than female. The mortality rate of chronic diseases over late 25 years increased annually and rose rapidly after age 60.The chronic death under 15 years old were mainly caused by malignant neoplasms and congenital anomalies, while those over 60 are mainly caused by circulatory diseases and malignant neoplasms.Among the 15 monitoring sites, the mortality rates of chronic diseases in Yanji,Fengman, and Dunhua were ranked in the top 3 respectively.Compared to the low urbanisantion rate area, the area with high urbanisation rate had higher chronic disease mortality rate.3.The circulatory system diseases and malignant tumors were the two main causes of death that caused the greatest loss of life, among all chronic diseases in Jilin Province.4.The probability of premature death caused by the major NCDs in Jilin Province was higher than others, therefore,NCDs prevention and control should be enhanced in Jilin Province,in order to reduce the mortality rate of residents and promote people’s health.5.Premature mortality rate of circulatory diseases, malignant neoplasms, respiratory diseases and diabetes mellitus were relatively high in Jilin Province.
