Objective:With the development of society and economic , the constituent of the diseases which threatening man' s health has been changed, non-communicable diseases (NCDs)has been recently the main risk for the man' s life. The first four leading causes in deaths , circulatory diseases, respiratory diseases, tumors and the accidental deaths , all are NCDs. Especially the accidental death became the main cause in man' s life loss. For it now occupied the fourth place in leading death causes in our country. This paper is for study the level and chief causes of accidental deaths among residents in Linfen city and provide basic evidence for health policy and preventive measures.Methods:All death based on the governmental statistics from janunary first to December thirty-first in 2002 were analysed , and classified through the ICD-10. The investigation contains the informations about the dead such as name , age , sex, job, death age , health history , death cause and local economic informations . All data were analysed with indices such as mortality and years of life loss .Results:There were 21180 deaths in Linfen city in 2002, and 12301 were male and 8879 were female. The mortality of Linfen residents was 535. 25/10', and the mortality of man was 605. 28/105 and the mortality of woman was 461.31/105.The standardized mortality of Linfen residents was 859. 65/105, and 981. 26/105 for male and 731. 91/105 for female .The mortality was very higher in Linfen city than in other places in China .The accicendal death took the third place in the first five leading deaths causes in Linfen .The mortality of accidental was 72. 63/105, and man' s was 99. 69/105 and woman' s was...
