ObjectivesTo investigate and compare the current status of first aid literacy among different occupational groups in Jingzhou urban area,explore the effecting factors,and put forward targeted countermeasures,to provide references for Jingzhou to carry out the popularization of first aid knowledge and skills.Methods1.The questionnaire was self-designed on the basis of literature review and consulting experts,first aid literacy of urban residents in Jingzhou,including basic information,first aid learning and needs,first aid knowledge and skills,first aid belief.2.The survey extracted 683 unban residents aged 15~69 years old in Jingzhou,adopting the method of stratified random sampling.It contained 270 college students,100 primary and secondary school teachers,163 hospital administrative and logistic staffs,60 service personnels in the transportation industry,and 90 volunteers.683 questionnaires were distributed and 672 effective questionnaires were recovered.The effective recovery rate was 98.39%.3.The survey used Epidate3.1 to establish the database and SPSS19.0 to process data.The main statistic methods were descriptive analysis,t-test,chi-square test.Results1.The status of first aid learning and needs:(1)The most common ways for residents to acquire first aid knowledge were television(63.69%),computer network(55.95%),public welfare publicity column(37.95%).66.82% residents were most willingness to learn first aid knowledge through professional teaching.(2)Self-evaluation of first-aid knowledge: 2.98% thinks "very good",17.56% "good",53.27% "general",26.19% "bad".(3)79.91% of the respondents supported the activities of popularization and publicity of first aid knowledge.(4)The main problems in the popularization of first aid knowledge: the weak personal consciousness(65.77%);lower education popularization rate(61.31%);inadequate government publicity(57.59%);less channels of publicity(53.57%);backward medical level(19.79%).2.The total average score of the first aid knowledge and skills of the urban residents in Jingzhou was(23.16±5.25).The average score of each part of the crowds from high to low was primary and secondary school teachers(26.30±3.33),hospital administrative and logistic staffs(24.39±5.77),college students(22.79±5.10),volunteers(21.34±5.23),service personnels in the transportation industry(19.17±2.76).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The awareness rate of each part of first aid knowledge was 88.10% in first aid and fire alarm telephone,5.95% in fire knowledge,1.64% in common sense of acute severe trauma treatment and family first aid,1.34% in CPR.There are also differences in the awareness rate and score of different parts among different crowds(P<0.05).3.The total average score of first aid belief of urban residents in Jingzhou was(37.38±5.73).The average score of each crowd from high to low was primary and secondary school teachers(39.69±4.18),college students(39.03±5.00),hospital administrative and logistic staffs(38.02±6.09),service personnels in transportation industry(33.18±3.69),volunteers(31.59±4.38).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Age,educational level,whether to receive training,external and psychological level had an effect on the level of first-aid literacy of residents(P<0.05).Conclusions1.The self-evaluation of first aid literacy level of different occupational groups in Jingzhou urban area is low,and the demand of professional staff popularizing first aid knowledge and skills is strong.2.The mastery of first aid knowledge and skills of urban residents in Jingzhou was not well balanced,while the overall first aid belief level was high.3.There is a difference in the level of first-aid literacy among the people of different characteristics in Jingzhou.The main influencing factors are age,education level,whether to be trained or not,external and psychological level.4.The first aid training and education system in Jingzhou is not yet perfect,and a unified and standardized training mechanism has not been established.
