The Research On Urbanization Promotion Supported By Industry In Jilin Province

Urbanization is an important indicator of a country’s industrialization andmodernization. Since the new century, China’s urbanization rate has increased from36.2%in2000to54.77%in2014, which has attracted the worldwide attention. Underthis background, Jilin fully seizes the historic opportunities of revitalizing the oldindustrial bases in Northeast China, the development and open of the Changjitu PilotZone, Great Tumen River national development and so on, by accelerating thecoordinated development of three industries, increases the urbanization rate from49.68%in2000to54.75%in2013. However, along with the urbanizationdevelopment, there are also a lot of problems such as the slowdown pace ofurbanization, the low match between industry and urbanization.Industry is the key factor to support and promote the development ofurbanization, also the important content of Urbanization. The dissertation took JilinProvince as an example to inquire theoretically and practically. First, based on atheory review it shew the relationship of urbanization and industry layout, as well assome experience and enlightenment. Second, it analyzed the present situation ofurbanization and industry layout in Jilin, discussed the industry’s affect onurbanization. Finally, the dissertation put forward some policy proposals aboutUrbanization Promotion supported by Industry in Jilin Province.The dissertation mainly choose regional economics theory, with a combined useof theoretical and practical, qualitative and quantitative methods, including spotinvestigation, literature collection, data collection, typical and sampling survey and soon. By comparing according to the data induction and analyzation, the dissertationdiscussed the ongoing situation and problems of urbanization, and explored somereasonable ways of optimizing the industry layout to promote urbanization, thenproposed three suggestions, which means: making industry plan with local conditions to promote an ordered urbanization; promoting industry agglomeration and cluster todrive a fast urbanization; building a coordinated industry layout to help anorchestrating urbanization. As a result, it can give some reference for next work.
