Arid and semi-arid regions of northern China have favorable light conditions, water scarcity, resource-rich slopes, but the restrictions by terrain and water conditions, the overall slope resource use efficiency is low. How to make good use of sloping land resources in these areas for sustainable development of the region is significant. In this paper, for example to Chengzi Township of Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia, based on field surveys, laboratory analysis and processing of maps and other methods, in the analysis of Chengzi Township spatial pattern of land use, impact of land-use patterns for light soil water resources and ecological suitability, made for different regions rational land use pattern. The following are main conclusions.(1) The total land area in Chengzi Township is35800hm2, less than25°land accounted for93.71%of the total land area; greater than25°slope accounted for6.29%.71.5%of cropland located in a low elevation and slope<15°on a gentle slope or flat, there is a small part of arable land distribution in>25°of steep ground; Garden area is extremely small, scattered in the gentle slope of less than25°on the ground;86%of the forest land concentrated on slopes<25°, and forest land mostly are weed trees, little economic forest, forest form is poor; Grass are mostly grassland,65.30%of grass distribution in the steep slopes>25°.(2) Eight kinds of typical land use patterns of Chengzi Township slope in soil degradation index ratings shows, In addition to>25°slope farmland appeared heavily degraded, other land use patterns are causing soil quality improvement. Energy efficiency, accept the coefficient of heat, water use efficiency under different land use patterns are different, Artificial reasonable improvement terrain, creating a natural environment, can greatly improve water light soil use efficiency of slope.(3) Ecological suitability evaluation results of Chengzi Township slope use shows, Chengzi Township have extremely abundant light and heat resources, good quality of soil fertility, soil erosion relatively small, water resources is poor; Sloping land more on less favorable for agriculture. Ecosystem suitability integrated value Chengzi Township is0.676, suitability is not high. Description Chengzi Township agricultural production conditions relative disadvantage. The main reason for this disadvantage is the lack of water, there are a lot of Sloping land. (4) According to the land use status and ecosystem suitability evaluation results of Chengzi Township, will be divided into sunny slope areas and shady slope areas. Sunny slope area proposed to take "protection-industrial" type, shady slope area to take "protection-development" type. Sunny slope area is divided into three kinds of microscopic patterns of land use area.①poding and steep slope (slope>25°) natural ecological forest and grass coverage area;②gentle slope (the slope of15°~25°) terracing farming area;③slope bottom (slope<15°) slope modern agricultural area, shady slope area is divided into two region of land use patterns.①poding and slow steep slope (slope>15°) shelter forest grass region;②slope bottom (slope<15°) slope moderately development area.
