Application Of Lauromacrogol Foam Sclerotherapy In The Treatment Of Hemangiomas & Vascular Malformations In Children

Objective: To summarize the clinical experiences of lauromacrogol foam sclerotherapy in the treatment of hemangiomas and vascular malformations in children,and analysis the treatment effects.Methods: In the nearly five years, 315 cases of hemangioma and vascular malformation were treated by lauromacrogol foam sclerotherapy, including 152 cases of hemangioma, 163 cases of vascular malformation, according to the age,pathological type, position and size, 1-10 ml lauromacrogol was used,the ratio of liquid and air was 1.2-1.4. The treatment was repeated every 2-4weeks. Parts of cases were treated with local injection of hormone or pingyangmycin, propranolol oral, stretch sets of oppression,and so on.Result: Hemangioma group: treatment range 1-6 times, average, 1.93 times, 56 cases were clinical cured(36.8%), 96 cases were improved(63.2%). Vascular malformation groups: treatment range 1-14 times, average 3.1 times. 61 cases were clinical cured(37.4%),102 cases were improved(62.6%).Conclusion:Lauromacrogol foam sclerotherapy is effective to dilate blood vessels of all kinds of hemangioma and vascular malformation, and the treatment have a novel role for venous malformations.This technology,as a kind of new hardening treatment technique, is effective,which can be used independently or combination with other therapies according to the disease.
