Study On Chinese Version Of The Nurse Competence Scale Revision And Evaluation

Objective:To introduce and translate the Nurse Competence Scale and text it psychology properties such as reliability and validity. To explore applicability of the Chinese scale by estimating the nurses’ competence level in levels of first-class hospitals in Tai yuan city,for our country clinical nurse post competency assessment to provide scientific and effective assessment tool.Methods:Firstly,getting contact with authorization of Dr.Ritta to get consent,then revised her Nurse Competence Scale. Then developing the scale by translation, back-translation,cross-cultural adaption, test,initially identifying the Chinese version. In November 2014 to January 2015, using the scale to investigate 650 clinical nurses from 5 levels of first-class hospitals in tai yuan city. Using SPSS13.0 software to analysis the results of the survey.In statistical analysis,using exploratory factor analysis to test it psychology properties and analyzing influence of demographic sociology on nurses competence.Results:1.Reliability of the scale:The internal consistency coefficient of NCS was 0.908.The Cronbach’s a coefficient of the tables is between 0.878-0.941. The split half r-eliability coefficient was 0.988.Retest coefficient was 0.967.showing that the scale has good reliability.2.Validity of the scale:?Content validity:The scale was throughstrict translation,back-translation and cross-cultural debugging,at the same time invite-d 10 related do main experts to evaluate the correlation between each item and scale, inter rater ag reement was 0.93,and content validity index was 0.80-1.00, S-CVI(SCVI/Ave) was 0.99,S-CVI(SCVI/UA) was 0.93.?Construct validity:This study applied principal comp-onent analysis, extracting 6 common factors that charact--eristic value greater than1,the cumulative contribution rate was 75.85%,and all the entries within the six fact ors of load value were greater than 0.4.3.The current status and influence factors analysis of clinical nurses from 3A-le-vel general hospital in Tai yuan city:?The current status of clinical nurses competence overall score of 74.90 ± 13.05. The highest score is Managing situations 77.61± 14.26. Followed is helping role 76.53 ± 13.94, the lowest score is the therapeutic interventions 71.27 ± 17.17.? The impact of population sociology factors on clinical nurse competenc-e single-factor analysis showed that significant statistical differences in overall clinic-al nurse competence scores are different department, age, care age,education and professional ranks.?Different department, age, nursing age, education and professional ranks are influence factors of clinical nurses competence.Conclusion:Upon examination, Nurse Competence Scale has good reliability and validity, it is a simple and comprehensive test, providing a effective assessment tool to evaluate clinical nursing competence in Chinese.
