Based on the study of digital photo frame systems and image processing technology, there are less products processing quality photo itself at this stage. In order to solve this problem, image processing technology of digital photo frame system was studied in this thesis. And the picture display quality of the existing digital photo frame was improved. Digital image processing functions including image scaling algorithm and image enhancement algorithm were achieved dominantly. This topic set up a model of digital photo frame system based on FPGA technology, on the basis of studying deeply in digital image processing technology and working principle of the digital photo frame, based on the SOPC technology with the FPGA as the core, adopting soft core processor Nios II, combining image processing algorithms and FPGA technology. The system give full play to the advantage of the FPGA internal resources to parallel digital signal processing. The system extends the functionality of the digital photo frame.The digital photo frame hardware system platform based on Altera DE2-70multimedia development platform was set up. And transplant algorithm to the system built in the Nios II hardware, to realize the digital photo frame based on FPGA. Hardware implementation of the system adopted modular design method, and system was divided into the image reading module, image processing algorithm module, audio module and display module. The image reading module, audio module and display module adopted implementation method of custom IP core, and image processing algorithms module used the software implementation by writing the corresponding C language program. Nios II processor designed by SOPC software and peripheral hardware system structure of the above modules. By putting Nios II soft core processor built by the Avalon bus and hardware description of each function module organically combined with the FPGA chip, the data interaction is implemented,the effectiveness of the proposed digital photo frame image processing algorithms is verified and the processing speed of the whole system is improved.The experimental results show that the proposed digital photo frame system architecture based on FPGA is effective and feasible and image processing algorithm is to achieve the expected effect.
