With the development of economy and society, the education is changed from traditionaleducation into the network teaching. Network teaching mainly refers to learning and teachingactivities through the Internet, the modern information technology provide the newcommunication mechanisms and rich learning resources, network teaching gives a new way oflearning which is different from traditional teaching. Online teaching breaks the traditionalteaching model to learn with a new way, teaching students through the network is no longerrelated to the campus, classrooms and textbooks, the main body of learning turns into students, itallows students to select the appropriate learning content, has an independent study.Because the users, content and resources of network teaching system became more and more,the size of the network teaching system is big and big, network systems are faced with thechallenge of teaching resources management. The appearance of cloud computing solve thisproblem, establishing a unified, open, shared network teaching system based on cloudenvironment is our current primary goal.The development of computer technology is faster and faster, cloud computing technology isbecoming more and more maturing, these will provide good technical support and excellentsolutions for creating and implementing network teaching system, using advanced technologiessuch as cloud computing unified, opened, sharing features to develop the information technologyeducation has become our new choice. Microsoft’s Windows Azure platform provide a perfectdevelopment environment, This paper analyzes the advances of online teaching system, trendsand technologies to achieve the system, introduces Microsoft’s Windows Azure platform, designsa teaching system based on Windows Azure platform. System has five modules:System Management Module: The administrator can insert, delete users, and can alsopublish, delete announcement. With this module, administrators run the system more convenientand timely. Users can see the latest information.Teaching Resources Management Module: Administrator, teacher, students can arbitrarilyupload, download, teaching resources. With this module users can access to the latest, mostcomprehensive, high-quality resources for more efficient learning.Real-time teaching modules: teachers and students can agree a good time to make a video teaching through the network. Through video teaching, students can learn through network,timely feedback learning, enjoy with the teaching like in the classroom.Online test module: Users can learn through online self-test results test. In this module,students can test themselves online, confirm their learning effect, to enhance the understandingof the knowledge is not good if you can also through active review.Online communication module: Users can learn methods of communication experience overthe network. Through this module students if there are questions you can ask the students or theteacher resolve their doubts, teachers can more easily understand the students ’learning, to makethe students’ communication with students more frequently.It can meets teachers, students and administration in everyday teaching and learning, itimplement systems management, teaching in real-time, teaching resources management, onlineexaminations, online exchanges and other functional modules. The system has been completedand have test in Windows Azure platform, and through the unit test, integration test, system test,the current system is working well, students can enjoy cloud services through the Internetanytime, anywhere quickly and easily.
