Objectives: By sending questionnaires to students in two universities in Dalian, toanalyzing selected students’ awareness level of HPV, HPV related diseases and HPVvaccine, as well as their intensions to be vaccinated. To provide the basis for decisionmakers of HPV vaccine application with relevant research data; to find out the potentialobstacles for promoting HPV in China to formulate scientific advice for thedevelopment of China’s policy of HPV prophylactic vaccine immunization.Method: The research is multi-center cross sectional epidemiological study.Research subjects are university students (aged18-22). The sampling subjects arenon-medical majored students from one key university and one college in Dalian. Therespondents are informed of the purpose of the research and are asked to undertakeidentically designed questionnaires. Questionnaires are completed anonymously andindependently. The results are double recorded and managed by trained researchersusing Epidata. The research data is analyzed by SPSS13.0. The statistical approachapplies descriptive statistics and χ2examination. Examination level=0.05.Results: Non medical students awareness rate was low on HPV, the generalawareness rate was only16.7%, far below the awareness rate of foreign students onaverage more than50%.For the16.5%key university students, college students is17.3%, the difference was not statistically significant. Key university:awareness ratein lower grade students:13%, awareness rate in higher grade students is21%, P>0.05;27.5%liberal arts students, students of science7.8%, P<0.05;37.1%awareness rate ofliberal arts students in male, female awareness rate17.3%, P>0.05,there is no statistical significance in grades differences; science students the awareness rate of HPV was8.7%in male, female students was6.6%, no statistical significance; heard HPV lowergrade students of liberal arts30%, high grade students accounted for25.4%,P>0.05;only2.2%of low grade students in cognitive science, and the high grade is16.7%,P<0.05, significant difference. College students overall HPV awareness rate was17.3%.Lower grade15.9%students, higher students is21.4%; Male students’ awareness ratewas18.8%, female awareness rate was13.3%, there were no significant differences in.The awareness rate of those who had sexual behavior of students was30.8%,significantly higher than asexual life of students cognitive rate was15.1%, P<0.05.College students awareness of HPV related disease knowledge are not high. The studentHPV vaccine overall survey of the witting rate was only12.8%. The key universityawareness rate15.4%higher than college awareness rate was6.4%, P<0.05; a liberalarts students awareness rate of27.5%, far higher than the science students awarenessrate was5.9%; in the liberal arts students in gender awareness rate approximation isrespectively male29%,female25.9%; high grade art students’ awareness rate was35.6%, the low grade is19.7%, no obvious difference. The awareness rate of low gradescience students (2.2%) is far lower than the awareness rate of high grade sciencestudents (11.7%), there was significant difference between the two groups. Collegestudents’ awareness rate was lower in HPV vaccine, and low grade, high grade;differences between male and female, among the groups were no obvious difference(P>0.05).Heard about the HPV vaccine in only61.2%students understanding of the vaccineto prevent which disease.68.4%of the students are willing to vaccination.76.9%ofKnowledge of HPV students are willing to vaccination, unaware of HPV studentswilling to66.5%vaccination, OR=3.84,95%confidence interval1.83~7.04. Students’choice of suitable HPV vaccine inoculation mechanism, mainly concentrated in theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention (56.9%) and (11.7%) in general hospital.Only9.9%students choose no first sex as the best crowd vaccination.26.6%of thestudents think the best age of inoculation with HPV vaccine is16-18years old,19.6% of people think that19-21is the best age for vaccination, and28.5%of people do notknow the best age for vaccination should be much. One main reason is that92.1%ofcollege students are concerned about the safety of the vaccine, the other is47.2%thinkthe vaccine was not popularized today. Both domestic and imported vaccines, the highest price of college students cantake no more than300yuan. And that the government should subsidize vaccine listedmore than72.5%of the cost.Conclusion:1.College students cognitive level on HPV and HPV vaccine is low. Most people don’t know HPV vaccine inoculation age and the most effective vaccine.2.College students have higher intention for HPV vaccination, they hold the idea thatthe vaccine can prevent themselves and their partner from HPV infection. The mainreason they do not want to inoculate HPV vaccination: vaccine price factors, thevaccine has not been widely used in large range, and they are worried about the safetyand efficacy of vaccines.3. College students have limited ability to pay of the vaccineand we hope that the government give the corresponding subsidies on the vaccine...
