Objective To investigate and to compare the attitudes to competence cultivation, curriculum teaching and clinical practice of professional nursing master degree education in nursing among nursing experts, nurses with bachelor degree and undergraduate nursing students, with the purpose of providing reference for higher educators to make training program.Methods A self-designed questionnaire and interview were used. We recruited40experts who were at least associate professorship and familiar with nursing work,147nurses with bachelor degree and177undergraduate nursing students who would graduate this year. The contents of questionnaire include competence cultivation, curriculum provision, teaching methods and clinical practice. All the data of the investigation was analyzed with SPSS19.0. Mean and standard deviation were used to describe the general information and the results of the survey. ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis test was selected to compare the differences among the different groups.Results (1)The experts, nurses and bachelor students had different perceptions on professional degree nursing graduate students’accessing and observing ability, nursing operation ability and health education ability, learning of basic courses and specialized courses, and clinical nursing practice (P<0.01).(2) Bachelor students had lower requirements on scientific research courses and research practice, but they have higher demands on interdisciplinary courses.(3)The experts, nurses and students had statistically different perceptions on problem-based learning, group discussion and classroom lecture (P<0.01).(4)Nurses had higher requirements of cultivating scientific research capacity than those of bachelor students (P=0.006), and there were statistical differences between part of their clinical practice needs.Conclusions (1) Focus on developing the clinical practical work ability, for example, the capacity of analyzing and solving problems, assessing and clinical observation ability, nursing operation ability and so on. We should longitudinally expand the content of the basic courses to avoid repeating undergraduate courses and expand horizontally the interdisciplinary courses and highlight the professional courses characteristics of "professional targeted","in-depth" and "cutting-edge". The methods of case teaching and seminar which received the unanimous approval of the experts, nurses and undergraduates can be used as the main teaching methods. It should be emphasized to practice specialist care operations, nursing rounds, overall care for the patients, nursing consultation.(2)Nursing educators should attach importance to psychological requirements and mistaken ideas of nurses and nursing students and meet or strengthen their positive demands in order to raise the enthusiasm for other aspects of learning and correct or eliminate their passive ideas, realizing real-time monitoring and timely intervention.
