Objective: It is to study the methods of resident doctor’s standardization trainingguided by pediatric clinical pathway management and the effect and application valueproduced by this approach. Methods: We mainly had a research on30resident physicians coming in2008and36resident physicians in2009in one Children’s Hospital in resident physiciansstandardized training approach, focusing on resident physicians standardized trainingapproach in2009. The two groups of resident physicians standardized training wereused in control study, applied by t test, χ~2test and other statistical analysis methods, todetermine the statistical significance of results. Meanwhile, through questionnaires, focus interviews, in-depth interviews and other methods of descriptive studies, we mustknow how the pediatric clinical pathway to guide the implement of residency training, and the positive effect produced in the process. Results: Using Pediatric clinical pathway in guiding the resident physiciansstandardized training established the clinical pathways of pediatric disease entities onguiding the training, identified the new ways of resident physicians standardizedtraining, and discovered the following advantages of the new methods: Firstly, residentphysicians actively involved in training, such as business training seminars, analysis anddiscussion of difficult cases, teaching rounds, resident physicians consult the higherphysicians and other aspects of training methods were previously effective than before. In the second, the teaching enthusiasm of higher physician is high, such as thefrequency of teaching rounds and learning of teaching physicians increased, and eachspecialized pediatric department proactively took the examination; At last, the residentphysicians standardized training were guided by the pediatric clinical pathway, whichleaded to the following results:(1) Residents’ pediatric theory level were improved(residents’ new method results in unified Jiangsu province’s exam showed well thanbefore,χ~2=5.39,P<0.05);(2) the resident got higher approval of the directors of the department, χ~2=10.10, P<0.01);(3) residents’ doctor-patient communication skillsimproved (less complaints got from patients, χ~2=6.98, P <0.05);(4) skill exam resultsseemed better than before(residents did well in history-taking and physical examination,t=4.72, P<0.01; and they also did well in reading the pictures, electrocardiogram (ecg)and blood smear, t=4.72, P <0.01).Conclusion: After applying pediatric clinical path management in residencystandardized training management, management acted out streamlined, systematic andscientific. Superior physicians had a clear quantitative indicators in residency training, and they owned really clear training objectives and direction, thus training indicatedhigh efficiency and good effect. It also fully mobilized the enthusiasm and innovation ofthe trained residents, and improved efficiency and effectiveness of their learning.
