Objective:This study based on current status of psychological nursing in china, aimed at improving the quality of psychological nursing education and training, and the level of psychological nursing of clinical nurses, and combined with the characteristics of social and nursing profession development to demand for high-quality and excellent nurse, to develop an scientifically objective instrument that of the knowledge, attitude, practice and need of Psychological Nursing on clinical nurse, that provides a new method for comprehensive and systematic understand the knowledge, attitude, practice and need of psychological nursing on clinical nurse, and designed to provide an auxiliary tool that can be comprehensive, objective and systematic evaluate the knowledge, attitude, practice and need of psychological nursing on clinical nurses; For nursing management departments as soon as possible understand the condition of the knowledge, attitude, practice and need of psychological nursing on clinical nurses. Effective to launch related training of psychological care, to help improving the ability of psychological on nurses; to provide important reference for nursing colleges carry out education reform according to the clinical demand.Methods:1.Literature reviewing was used to obtain the information of the latest state and trend of research about the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing about clinical nurse of domestic and overseas. Collecting and analyzing correlation instruments in term of establishment and application2. Based on the theory of nursing psychology, to a large number of correlation literature for reference, to protocol four dimensions evaluation system of the knowledge, attitude, practice and need of Psychological Nursing on clinical nurse, building item pool through expert interviews and combined with the literature.3. Two Delphi methods was used to develop the draft of the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing about clinical nurse assessment tool.4. two hundred and eighty-six nurses was enrolled the survey on initial questionnaire. Then developing the final version of the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing about clinical nurse with item analysis, such as dispersion degree, discrimination analysis, correlation coefficient method, Alpha coefficients index and factor analysis, etc.5. The internal consistency reliability analysis, split-half reliability, content validity and construct validity were used to access the reliability and the validity of the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing about clinical muser.6. The instrument was used to investigate the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing about clinical nurses from general hospital in Xi’an Tertiary-A Comprehensive Hospitals.Result:1. Establishing the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Clinical Psychological Nursing assessment tool which contain4dimensionalities (knowledge of Psychological Nursing, attitude of Psychological Nursing, practice of Psychological Nursing and need of Psychological Nursing),49items through Delphi method, item analysis and factor analysis. The choices of this questionnaire rated by Likert-5, the total score of questionnaire with a range of49-245; the score of4dimensionalities (knowledge, attitude, practice need) respectively were20~100,6~30,19~95,4~20. the higher the score, the better overall level of the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing, vice versa. Principal components analysis with Promax rotation and Kaiser normalization resulted in a four-factors solution explaining61.662%of the common variance.2. The instrument total alpha coefficient was0.939, the alpha coefficient of knowledge was0.929, the alpha coefficient of attitude was0.803, the alpha coefficient of practice was0.917, the alpha coefficient of need was0.825; split-half reliability was0.962, resurvey reliability was0.868, content validity was0.993.3. The total score of the questionnaire on clinical nurses in Xi’an Tertiary-A Comprehensive Hospitals was171.86±30.09with a range of100±240. The mean score of knowledge was61.27±16.48with a range of23~98. The mean score of attitude was26.20±3.78with a range of11~30.The mean score of practice was67.33±13.68with a range of31~90, The mean score of need was17.07±2.18with a range of8~20.4. The influencing factors related with the knowledge, attitude, practice and need of psychological nursing on clinical nurses were degree of education, position and career satisfaction (P<0.05); not significantly different among age, working years, job title and ward (P>0.05).①Degree of education:the knowledge and need of psychological nursing on clinical nurses which of bachelor degree or above significantly higher than which of secondary degree (63.99±15.42Vs59.88±17.03;17.47±2.18Vs16.90±1.48), and associate degree (63.99±15.42Vs61.70±12.88;17.47±2.18Vs16.87±2.19).②Position:the head nurse’s knowledge (66.98±17.80Vs60.80±16.29), attitude (28.10±2.46Vs26.05±3.83), practice (74.10±12.15Vs66.77±13.66) significantly higher general nurse.③Career satisfaction:the knowledge of clinical nurses which of career satisfaction higher than generally satisfaction (65.27±17.86Vs59.03±14.97) and not satisfaction (65.27±17.86Vs58.18±15.74); the attitude (26.35±3.84Vs25.00±4.45;26.38±3.51Vs25.00±4.45), practice (69.37±14.99Vs60.59±13.83;67.46±12.05Vs60.59±13.83), need (17.22±2.17Vs16.44±2.28;17.10±2.15Vs16.44±2.28) of satisfaction and generally satisfaction significantly higher not satisfaction.Conclusion:1. The assessment instrument of the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing about clinical nurse with good reliability and validity, that was a sound instrument for measuring the knowledge, attitude, practice and needs of Psychological Nursing among clinical nurses in china.2. Clinical nurses was higher for demand for the knowledge and skills of psychological nursing in Xi’an Tertiary-A Comprehensive Hospitals, the knowledge, attitude and practice to be improved. It tells us:nursing management departments should strengthen education and train of psychological on clinical nurses,to improve their he comprehensive ability of psychological nursing; and nursing colleges should carry out teaching reform of psychological nursing according to the requirements of clinical nurses, to improve the knowledge and skills of nursing students.
