An Strategical Study On East Branch Of Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital

With the development of social economy, the rapid progress of the internationalization and the increasingly drastic market competition, the reform of the pharmaceutical and health care system will continue deepening in China, which leads to the diversity of the health care industry and people’s growing demand and requirement for high-quality health care services. Therefore, how to attain its place in the fierce competition of medical service market is an urgent challenge for hospitals to solve. Under the leadership of The Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital and Sichuan Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences, East Branch of Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital has developed rapidly over the past three years. The establishment of East Branch is the first comprehensive hospital in the east of Chengdu, which gained social and economic benefits and worked wonders in development of hospitals by relocation in the province. In order to meet the needs of self-development and the construction of the hospital and the east branch, hospital strategy management research is required to be done to direct development, assisting the overall development strategy of The Sichuan Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences to win the fierce competition.This theme was based on the history and culture and development of East Branch of Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, using modern enterprise and hospital strategic management theory as guidance, through spot investigation and consultation of lots of references, using methods such as PEST and SWOT connecting with the practical situation and analyzing the inner and outer environments. We found out the current advantages and disadvantages, the opportunities and the challenges of the branch and we established the development strategies such as SO, WO and made our choice—the SO strategy (give full play to the inner advantages and make the best of the outer opportunity of the branch). We will take the hospital-running model of large-specialty and small comprehensive department promote itself as a medical center for the east Chengdu. Countermeasures and guarding mechanism were pointed out as well.
