Study On The General First Aid Nursing Technology The Nurses Must Master To Public Emergency And Countermeasures

Objective: All kinds of public emergencies happen increasingly in the world, and the results are becoming more severe. The government and peoples have paid more attention to this phenomenon and have gained some progress about the mechanism of preparedness and response, but they seldom study the general technology which exigent succors must have. The nursing staff is very important in providing first aid in such emergencies, especially in Xinjiang area. So it is the aim for the nursing staff to study and master the general first aid technology in public emergencies and to search an effective method of training succors, especially all the nurses and peoples in a short period of time.Methods: By review, we studied the first aid nursing technology to public emergency of physical care, psychological care and health education to local people according to the demands of bio-psycho-social medical model. And then a questionnaire was used to survey the knowledge and the first aid technology the nursing staff in Xinjiang Bingtuan area have mastered. 411 nurses as random sample were collected and investigated; training and drilling were given in a way of step by step. First, we collected 62 nurses of Shehezi area and fostered them, and then 52 nurses and doctors from different area of Xinjiang were cultured by same text and same methods, at last, all the nursing staff of Xinjiang medical departments were trained by them and health education of public emergency to local people was given. 6 months later, the same survey was given to 524 trained nurses in randomly. Chi-square test was applied by SPSS11.5.Results: The knowledge and the first aid technology the nursing staff have mastered were deficient, especially in psychological care and health education to local people before training. After training, almost all the nurses had an improvement of different levels in aspect of response to public emergency, adding up 10 thousands nurses and local people (by 1/250 of the population of all Bingtuan) trained and educated. The outcome of Chi-square test indicated: the general first aid nursing technology the nurses must have to public emergency have significant difference (p﹤0.05) between after training and before excluding the first aid to scald patient and first aid to poisoning (p﹥0.05).Conclusion: According to the modern emergency care emphasizing on first aid, and the local characteristics of Xingjiang, the general first aid nursing technology to public emergency includes six aspects: assessment; first aid after trauma (eg, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemeostasis, enswathement, fastness to fracture et al); self-protection of the health providers and local people; transfer patients; psychological care and health education to local people. At the same time, we draw a conclusion: training step by step was an effective method of training all succors in a short time.
