Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Vascular Dementia With EX-HN1

Vascular Dementia (VD) is a kind of dementia, which is caused by cerebral vascular factors. At presents, there is no satisfactory clinical method. Researches indicate that acupuncture is a good method to treatment to VD. The objective of this investigation is to improve that. We sieve several points that are good in the treatment to VD. The results as follow:Clinical research: we give the treatment to 90 VD suffers:40with the electric acupuncture therapy, 20 with the medicine and last 30with both of the acupuncture and the medicine. Electric acupuncture group: main points: Sishencong(EX-HNl), Baihui (DU20), Shenting(DU24). 30 minutes every time. Once every day, three months as a course of treatment;Medicine group with 0. 8 tid Piracetam;Electric acupuncture-medicine group followed by both of the treatment above. Result: the total effective rate is 90% in the electric acupuncture group, 50% in the medicine and 87% in the electric acupuncture-medicine group. There is a significant difference between the electric acupuncture group and the medicine group(p<0. 05), but no difference between the electric acupuncture group and the electric acupuncture-medicine group(p>0. 05).This proved that the points by electric acupuncture therapy was able to improve the intellectual function of the patients suffering from vascular dementia.
