Pingshuo opencast mine area locates in the Pinglu division of Shuozhou City. Shanxi Province. It links with specially large-scale coalfield, called "Black triangle", in Loess Plateau on the borders area of Shaanxi Province, Shanxi Province and Inner Mongolia Region. It is an eco-environment system susceptible to environmental changes, and is hard to keep stableness. We select lands of reclamation in Antaibao Mine as study area in this paper, and apply various methods of quantitative ecology to analyze the relationship between plant community and environment. Firstly, we study plant community types, community structure, ecological environment and community distribution pattern in the course of vegetation restoration by TWINSPAN. DCA. CCA, DCCA. The results are as following: plant communities are classified into 12 types by TWINSPAN, and they reflect changes of two environmental gradients, time of succession and water conditions of soil. The results of DCA ordination indicate that water conditions of soil is increased in the succession process. The ordination of species and quadrats are similar, and to some extent the distribution of the dominant species determines that of communities. By using DCCA, the species-environment correlation increase considerably, and it is in favor of interpreting the ecological meaning of the ordination. Because DCCA makes quadrats with similar composition and environments and species with similar habitat more concentrated on the center of the ordination map. it is better to use DCA when combining with classification techniques.Secondly we applly Fuzzy Set Ordination(FSO) to analyze the data of vegetation and environmental factors. Compared with DCA ordination. FSO is better in reflecting the relationship between plant communities and environmental factors. The concentration of organic matter. N. P, K and Zn in the soil are increased with succession time increasing. But pH. conductivity, the concentration of Cu and Mn in the soil have no obvious change, and they are not the significant factors to interfere community succession. The dominant species have their own distribution area and range in ordination plot and their distribution reflects the relationship among species. The distribution of dominant species is identical to that of the corresponding plant communities types dominated by themFinally, based on the important values of the dominant species in communities in different stage of succession, we analyze the regularity of succession of artificial plant communities in Antaibao Mine. The results show that the succession is classified into three stages. In the first stage, the composition of species is simple and the structure of community is unstable. In the second stage, the composition of species is richer and the structure of community is relative stable and the layer of community is obvious. In the third stage, all aspects of community become stable, and the total cover of some communities reach ninety-five percent and they can endure the interference from external space. The above results show that rehabilitation make soil conditions improved. In sum. this thesis has some instructive values to land reclamation and ecological reconstruction in degraded mined land in Loess Plateau.
