| China’s 14th Five Year Plan proposes to promote high-quality and green development of the logistics industry.The logistics industry,as an important driving force for economic and social progress and development,occupies an important position in the national economy.The green development of the logistics industry is the foundation and key for the central region and the country to promote the goal of low-carbon economic development,and it is also the only way to achieve coordinated development of the economy,resources,and environment.The central region has a unique geographical location and is the inland core hinterland and important hub that carries the east-west and connects the north and south of China.The logistics industry has become an important component of the economic development of the central region.In the process of green transformation and upgrading of the logistics industry,obtaining higher logistics output and minimizing environmental pollution with less investment is the key to improving the green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region and achieving green and healthy development of the logistics industry.Therefore,how to measure and improve the green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region has become a key issue of current concern.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces(cities)from 2010 to 2021,this paper evaluates and analyzes the level of green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region,and explores the relevant influencing factors.Firstly,select appropriate input and output indicators,and construct an unexpected output Super-SBM model to calculate and analyze the green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region.Secondly,the ML index is further applied to analyze the green total factor productivity of the logistics industry in the central region,revealing the trend of changes in different time periods.Finally,the Tobit regression model is used to analyze the factors affecting the green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region,and relevant improvement strategies are proposed to promote the green and healthy development of the logistics industry in the central region.The main findings of the paper are as follows:(1)The green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region is not high,showing a fluctuating pattern,and the overall development level is average.There are also significant differences among different provinces,showing a pattern of "Anhui>Shanxi>Henan>Jiangxi>Hunan>Hubei" from high to low.From a national perspective,the trend of "East>Central>Northeast>West" is consistent with the laws of regional economic development.(2)The main reason for the low green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region is the low pure technical efficiency.From 2010 to 2021,the increase in green total factor productivity of the logistics industry was mainly driven by the improvement of the technical efficiency change index.(3)Through Tobit regression analysis,the level of economic development,infrastructure utilization rate,and technological innovation ability have a positive impact on the green efficiency level of the logistics industry in the central region,while the intensity of energy consumption has a significant inhibitory effect.The level of informatization is positively correlated with the green efficiency of the logistics industry in the central region,while the industrial structure is negatively correlated,but the effect is not significant.Therefore,relevant improvement strategies are proposed. |
