Research On The Influence Of Digital Economy On Regional Coordinated Development

Regional coordinated development is an important guarantee of our high-quality economic development and a key to building a great modern socialist country.Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly,and its labor-intensive industries have gained strong international competitiveness,creating the "Chinese miracle".However,the gap between regional economic,social and cultural development,especially between the coast and the interior,is growing.Despite a large number of strategic designs and institutional reforms,the problem has not been fundamentally solved,and even a development gap between the North and the South has emerged on the basis of the development gap between the east and the west,which shows that China needs to strengthen regional coordinated development to effectively alleviate the imbalance and inadequate development contradiction between regions.Digital economy is regarded as an important basis for addressing the problem of unbalanced and inadequate development among regions and a new driving force for economic development.In the report to the 19 th National Congress of China,China clearly put forward the concept of building a "digital China",and the construction of digital economy has risen to the level of national strategy.In terms of theoretical analysis,digital economy can rely on its unique characteristics of integration and sharing,and affect regional coordinated development from different dimensions,but in reality,the digital economy on regional coordinated development of the impact path and effects need to be further studied.Therefore,this thesis probes deeply into the influence of digital economy in the process of regional coordinated development and the transmission mechanism,and puts forward some relevant policy suggestions to promote the development of digital economy according to the realistic characteristics of Chinese economic movement,in order to provide a certain reference for speeding up regional coordinated development.First of all,based on the existing research results,this thesis systematically combs the relevant studies on the development of digital economy and regional coordinated development,summarizes the internal relationship between the two and makes a brief review.On this basis,from the theoretical level,the effects of digital economy on regional coordinated development and the transmission mechanism are explained,and the following research hypotheses are put forward: digital economy can directly promote regional coordinated development;Regional innovation performance can be used as an indirect transmission mechanism for digital economy to influence regional coordinated development.The influence of digital economy on regional coordinated development has the nonlinear feature of "increasing marginal effect".Digital economy can promote the economic development of neighboring areas through spatial spillover effect.Secondly,this thesis analyzes the current experience facts of the coordinated development of digital economy and regions,and based on this empirical research.At the level of current analysis,this thesis measures the development level of our digital economy and the level of regional coordinated development by constructing a comprehensive evaluation index system based on the global entropy method.At the level of empirical research,based on the panel data of 30 provinces(municipalities)from 2013 to 2020,this thesis successively constructs the dual fixed-effect model,the intermediary effect model,the threshold panel model and the spatial econometric model,and conducts a multidimensional empirical analysis of the relationship between digital economy and regional coordinated development.The research issues mainly involve the following three aspects: Has digital economy had a positive effect on the coordinated development of our regions? If so,by what transmission mechanism? And is the effect non-linear? In addition,this thesis further explores whether the digital economy exists inter-regional spatial spillover effect also.Finally,based on the theory,current situation and empirical research conclusions,this thesis puts forward targeted policy recommendations.The main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:(1)the development level of digital economy plays a significant role in promoting the coordinated development of regions,and the influence has significant regional heterogeneity.The western region enjoys greater dividends of digital economy than the eastern and central regions;(2)Digital economy can enhance regional innovation performance and promote regional coordinated development;(3)Digital economy not only has a positive impact on regional coordinated development,but also has a nonlinear increasing effect;(4)Digital economy has a positive spatial spillover effect on regional coordinated development.Based on the above research conclusions,this thesis puts forward relevant policy suggestions on accelerating the development of digital economy and driving the coordinated development of regions from three aspects: implementing the differentiated digital economy development strategy according to local conditions,promoting the deep integration of digital technology and innovation-driven development,and promoting the coordinated development of regions through the spatial linkage of digital economy.
