In recent years, with the continuous development of manufacturing industry and technology, the upgrading of digital infrastructure represented by Internet facilities has brought more and more influence to the manufacturing industry, and digital infrastructure has become a powerful driving force for the upgrading of manufacturing industry.Currently, due to the deepening of global division of labor,it is no longer reasonable to measure a country’s trade gains from the scale of manufacturing exports alone,so the domestic value-added rate of exports is adopted to measure export benefits. The upgrading of digital infrastructure has made it possible for the entire manufacturing chain, from design and development to marketing and production,to become intelligent, prompting enterprises to invest human and financial resources in research and development of new technologies and products, increasing the added value of their products and reaping more export benefits.Considering the different levels of technological development and digital infrastructure in different countries around the world,in order to understand the impact of digital infrastructure on the domestic value-added rate of manufacturing exports, the indicator variables were first selected through the World Telecommunication Union(ITU)and the World Bank database(WDI),and the digital infrastructure indicators were measured through the entropy weighting method. In order to more visually compare the data differences between different samples,China and Japan were selected as representatives of developing and developed countries for the comparison of digital infrastructure as well as export domestic value-added rate.Using data from the WOID 2016 database to measure the domestic value added rate of total manufacturing exports and the domestic value added rate of manufacturing exports by technology-intensive sectors for 42 countries,it was found that as digital infrastructure continues to be upgraded,it has a significant negative impact on the domestic value added rate of exports of developed countries, while it has a more significant positive impact on the value added rate of exports of developing countries.Secondly,in terms of the impact mechanism,it is found that digital infrastructure affects the export domestic value-added rate of manufacturing value chain by promoting the upgrading of innovation technology and manpower structure of enterprises within the manufacturing industry of the country and promoting the synergy effect of enterprises. The test of heterogeneity found that upgrading digital infrastructure can effectively raise the export domestic value-added rate of low-tech manufacturing in developing countries and the export domestic value-added rate of high-tech manufacturing in developed countries. Finally,on the basis of the above analysis, countermeasures are proposed to promote the domestic value-added rate of manufacturing exports from China and Japan through upgrading digital infrastructure.
