| The new round of global technological and industrial revolution is in a rapid form,and countries have placed their strategic focus on industrial transformation and upgrading.With the rapid improvement and development of Internet technology,especially the effective breakthrough of computer computing power and algorithm,artificial intelligence has been able to develop rapidly and gradually integrate with traditional industries.In 2015,with reference to the objective law of industrial development and upgrading,China formulated and promulgated the Made in China2025,which defines a path to promote industrial development through the high-level and in-depth combination of industrialization and information technology,and pursues a model of sustainable development.China’s intelligent manufacturing technology and supporting equipment have been popularized in various industries.Numerical control technology with distinct characteristics of automation has greatly improved the industrial production efficiency,and the substitution effect trend of low-end labor is obvious.The change of labor employment structure and production efficiency will inevitably lead to the change of trade economy.Will the accelerated integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing become a new focus of our export trade upgrading? There are still gaps in the research content of related fields.In the context of building a new development pattern,it is of great significance to explore the impact of industrial intelligence on the domestic value-added rate of China’s manufacturing exports in response to the domestic industrial development strategy,accelerate the application of artificial intelligence,and cultivate the new driving force for the increase of the domestic value-added rate of China’s export products.This paper uses China Industrial Enterprise Database and China Customs Trade Data to estimate the export domestic value-added rate from 2004 to 2013 at the enterprise level,and uses the data of industrial enterprises above designated size at the provincial level in China Statistical Yearbook,China Science and Technology Yearbook and China Electronic Information Industry Statistical Yearbook.Based on the principal component analysis method,This paper measures the level of industrial intelligence in 29 provinces of China,empirically tests the impact of industrial intelligence on the increase of the domestic value-added rate of Chinese enterprises’ export products,and analyzes the mechanism of industrial intelligence on the domestic value-added rate of enterprises’ export products in detail from the perspective of R&D innovation and intermediate products.The results show that industrial intelligentization has significantly promoted the increase of domestic value-added rate of Chinese manufacturing enterprises.This conclusion is still valid after robustness tests such as bilateral tail reduction,considering data interception,replacing explained variables,using instrumental variable regression,and constructing dynamic panel data model for regression.Based on the perspective of domestic intermediates,industrial intelligence can promote the export rate of domestic value-added through R&D innovation channels and domestic intermediates quality channels.Heterogeneity analysis shows that industrial intelligentization has a significant effect on export DVAR increase only for mixed trade enterprises.The development of industrial intelligence in the eastern region can significantly promote the increase of export DVAR of enterprises.This conclusion is not supported by empirical evidence in the central and western regions.Labor factor intensive industries benefit obviously from industrial intelligentization,and non-state-owned enterprises can realize the increase of export trade profits through industrial intelligentization.The research results can help to fully understand the promotion role of industrial intelligentization on the increase of domestic value-added rate of exports,and provide beneficial policy enlightenment for reasonable guidance of manufacturing intelligentization in different regions and promoting the increase of domestic valueadded rate of exports in various regions according to local conditions. |
