With the continuous advancement of globalization,foreign executives are playing an increasingly important role in Chinese enterprises.Enterprises are an important component of market entities and also play an important role in China’s poverty alleviation efforts.Corporate value and corporate poverty governance participation have become important aspects of corporate social responsibility in today’s era of globalization.Targeted poverty alleviation is an important strategic direction for poverty alleviation and development in China.However,the process of poverty alleviation requires enterprises to have good governance mechanisms and effective execution.Foreign executives play an important role in corporate governance and targeted poverty alleviation.They have unique background knowledge and multinational experience,and can play a greater advantage in enterprise management and poverty alleviation.Foreign executives can also bring excellent corporate social responsibility concepts and management experience from abroad to Chinese enterprises,promoting their governance and participation levels in targeted poverty alleviation.At the same time,foreign executives also need to fully understand China’s culture and regulations to ensure that the operation and poverty alleviation process of enterprises are legally and compliant.Therefore,in the current poverty alleviation cause in China,enterprises need to pay more attention to value and participation in poverty governance,while foreign executives can play a greater role in corporate governance and targeted poverty alleviation.Through cooperation with domestic executives,foreign executives can continuously improve their management skills and practical experience through cross-cultural communication and cooperation,and also provide broader and diverse perspectives and ideas for targeted poverty alleviation for Chinese enterprises.Therefore,this paper takes A-share listed companies from 2016 to 2020 as research samples,enterprises’ introduction and going-out as the background,and foreign executives working in domestic enterprises as the perspective,to explore the impact of foreign executives on targeted poverty alleviation in Chinese enterprises,as well as the moderating role of enterprise value.Through empirical research,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)compared with the enterprises without foreign executives,the enterprises with foreign executives are more inclined to carry out targeted poverty alleviation,and the greater the intensity of targeted poverty alleviation,and the influence of enterprise value is more obvious in state-owned enterprises and enterprises with the combination of two positions.(2)Corporate value can positively promote foreign executives’ targeted poverty alleviation,that is,foreign executives in listed companies with high corporate value have a more obvious promoting effect on targeted poverty alleviation,and the influence of corporate value is more obvious in state-owned enterprises and enterprises with dual roles.Moreover,the conclusion is still valid after a series of robustness tests including previous explanatory variables,replacement explanatory variables and Heckman test.According to the following conclusions,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: First,from the perspective of the government.Local governments can,according to their actual conditions,provide certain tax deductions or rewards to enterprises that introduce foreign outstanding talents.Meanwhile,in order to stabilize foreign outstanding talents,local governments can provide certain policy supports for the spouses of foreign executives to settle their jobs and for their children to enroll in school.Secondly,the government should formulate relevant laws and regulations on corporate social responsibility.Finally,the government should strengthen the publicity of targeted poverty alleviation and corporate social responsibility.Second,from the perspective of the enterprise.First,companies should optimize their senior management teams.Secondly,enterprises should improve the recruitment and performance evaluation system for foreign executives.Finally,companies should do their best to support expatriate executives living in China.
