The Yangtze River Economic Belt occupies an important position in China’s economic development, and its green and coordinated development is crucial to China’s economic development.Since the 18 th Party Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping has personally convened three symposiums on the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, taking the pulse for the Yangtze River Economic Belt to achieve highquality development. At the third symposium,General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed that the Yangtze River Economic Belt should be developed into the main battlefield of China’s ecological priority and green development.Energy is the cornerstone of sustainable economic and social development and national security. With the existing energy endowment,it is of great significance in enhancing the energy efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt to achieve its ecological priority and green development. This thesis takes the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object, and conducts a specific research based on producer services and manufacturing.Firstly, based on producer services and manufacturing, the level of single industry agglomeration is measured by the locational entropy method, and the level of industry collaborative agglomeration is measured by the modified E-G index. Then, the totalfactor energy efficiency(TFEE)of each province and city is measured by using the super-efficient SBM model with consideration of non-desired output, and its dynamic changes are analyzed based on the GML index. Finally,a suitable spatial econometric model is constructed and selected to explore the impact of industrial collaborative agglomeration on TFEE,and the heterogeneity of this impact in different regions and industries with different technology levels is analyzed. The main conclusions are drawn as follows:(1)From 2006 to 2019,the overall level of industrial collaborative agglomeration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt showed a downward trend, with specific changes of first declining, then rising, and then declining again.By region, the downstream region has the highest level of industrial collaborative agglomeration and is higher than the overall level. This is followed by the midstream region and upstream region, which have a lower level of industrial collaborative agglomeration than the overall level.(2)From 2006 to 2019,the TFEE in the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a whole shows a fluctuating downward trend and does not reach an effective state.Among the11 provinces and cities, only Shanghai has been in the effective DEA state during the study period.Among the three regions, the downstream region has the highest level of TFEE,followed by the midstream region and finally the upstream region. The GML index indicates that there is a weak downward trend in TFEE and a weak upward trend in technical efficiency for the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a whole.(3)The results of the dynamic spatial Durbin model show that in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, there is a cumulative effect of TFEE in time, and the improvement of TFEE in the previous period will positively promote TFEE in the current period. From the decomposition results of the model,in the short term, improving the level of industrial collaborative agglomeration has a significant positive effect on the improvement of TFEE in the region as well as in the neighboring regions. In the long term, however, industrial collaborative agglomeration only has a significant positive effect on TFEE in the region, and the spatial spillover effect is not significant.(4)In the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the impact of industrial collaborative agglomeration on TFEE has some regional heterogeneity and industry heterogeneity.By region,it is significantly positive in the upstream and downstream regions, while it is negative and insignificant in the midstream region.Dividing the producer services into two categories, high technology and low and medium technology, their collaborative agglomeration with manufacturing both have significant positive effects on TFEE in the region, but they show insignificant and significant positive effects on neighboring regions, respectively.Based on the above conclusions, this thesis puts forward relevant policy recommendations to promote the TFEE of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, thus enhancing its green and coordinated development. There are 15 figures,20 tables and 109 literatures in this thesis.
