| With the launch of the reform and opening up process,China’s economy has begun to take off and,at the same time,its foreign trade has surged and developed rapidly,playing an immeasurable role in our country’s economic development.In foreign trade,small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs)play an indispensable role.The economic activities of the world market can see the presence of numerous SMEs,which have become the main driving force for China’s export-oriented economic growth and play an important role in the world market.However,the financial crisis since 2008 has already had a huge negative impact on the global economy,coupled with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict,the international economic environment has further deteriorated,and many foreign trade enterprises are seeking survival in a difficult external business environment.The relative lack of resources and capabilities of SMEs themselves,coupled with the deterioration of the surrounding international,social,political and other environments,has made their survival and development even more difficult.How to enable SMEs in the increasingly competitive global market to achieve good growth and development has become an urgent problem to be solved.The paper is based on the perspective of ecological niche theory,comprehensively using literature analysis method,qualitative analysis method,and case analysis method,and taking Company Y as an example to conduct research on SMEs.The paper is mainly divided into four parts.The first part mainly expounds the concept of ecological niche,enterprise ecological niche,enterprise ecological niche theory and its measurement methods,providing theoretical support for analyzing the problems of SMEs and proposing solutions.The second part mainly analyzes the constituent elements of the ecological niche of SMEs and constructs an analysis framework for the current development status of SMEs,forming an evaluation system for SMEs based on ecological niche theory.The third part mainly combines the enterprise ecological niche-related theories in Chapter 2 and the enterprise development analysis framework in Chapter 3 to analyze the ecological niche of Y’s customers,products,human resources,suppliers,and other aspects,and find the business problems it faces at this stage.Through research,it is found that Y company’s customer,product,human resource,supplier ecological niche width is narrow,product ecological niche overlaps with competitors,and the company’s market development and marketing ability and technological innovation ability need to be improved.In the final part,based on the existing problems of the company,the article proposes strategies for expanding the enterprise ecological niche,broadening the enterprise ecological niche,and separating the enterprise ecological niche,helping it to create its unique competitive advantages and consolidate its own enterprise ecological niche to seek further development. |
