Research On Maturity Evaluation Of IT Project Management Of Company A

In recent years,Company A has implemented a series of IT projects to support the company’s operation and business innovation.Assessing the maturity of company A’s IT project management is of great significance for improving its IT project management ability and enhancing its competitiveness.First of all,using the literature research method,this paper studies the project management maturity theory and several excellent maturity models,and analyzes the common application scenarios and application methods.Secondly,the current situation of IT project management process and IT project management characteristics of Company A is studied,and the necessity of Company A to carry out IT project maturity assessment is expounded.Then,combined with the actual situation of company A’s IT project management,the OPM3 model is selected to evaluate the maturity of company A’s IT project management.Tailor the project set hierarchy field and project portfolio hierarchy field in the three hierarchy fields of the OPM3 model to obtain two first level indicators of project management and organizational enablers and 26 second level indicators.Using AHP to determine the index weight,an application model suitable for company A is constructed to evaluate the maturity of company A’s IT project management.Data were collected through questionnaire survey,and the comprehensive score calculated by value analysis method was 43.4 points.The IT project management maturity of Company A was rated as Level 3.From the perspective of maturity level,Company A’s IT project management ability is medium,but from the perspective of score,it is still low on the whole.This shows that Company A needs to make improvements in project management and improve the level of IT project management.Finally,by analyzing the evaluation results,it is found that the organizational structure,project management training,project procurement management and project quality management are the key factors affecting the IT project management ability of Company A.In view of these key factors,four suggestions were put forward,including increasing project management functions in the organizational structure,strengthening project management training,improving project procurement management and improving project quality management,to help enterprises improve their IT project management capabilities.
