With the rapid development of the digital economy, digital transformation has become a powerful tool for business model transformation and cost reduction in enterprises. In recent years, affected by unexpected public health events, international industrial fluctuations, and regulations on industrial and supply chain management by countries such as the United States, domestic enterprise supply chains have faced increased uncertainty and risks, leading to increased vulnerability in production and operations.Electronic contract manufacturing companies play a crucial role in the electronic information industry by providing electronic product manufacturing services for brand owners. In recent years, the supply chains of electronic contract manufacturing companies have encountered severe challenges, often facing situations where there is a lack of available goods, inability to supply in a timely manner,or sudden disruptions in the supply. To survive in this wave, digital transformation of the supply chain is the best choice for electronic contract manufacturing companies.Currently, most managers in electronic contract manufacturing companies still have a traditional supply chain management mindset, lacking a systematic understanding and grasp of digital transformation in the supply chain.Firstly, this study establishes a foundation by reviewing literature on electronic contract manufacturing firms, supply chain management, and digital transformation both domestically and internationally. The theoretical framework, research methods, and approaches derived from the literature review provide a basis for subsequent analysis.Based on this foundation, the study delves into the analysis of Company B’s supply chain, including an assessment of its competitive environment, supply chain processes, risks, and demands. The analysis reveals several issues in Company B’s supply chain, such as high procurement costs, poor alignment between procurement and production, intensive quality inspection processes, and difficulties in supply chain integration.Secondly, the study analyzes and summarizes the causes behind the identified problems in Company B’s supply chain. It identifies factors such as the lack of stable supplier relationships, insufficient data analysis capabilities, significant information gaps in the supply chain, and the absence of an integrated platform as key contributors to the issues.Lastly, recognizing the potential of digital transformation in addressing these problems, the study proposes targeted strategies for digital transformation in Company B’s supply chain. These strategies include digital supplier management, supply chain data analysis, information sharing, and the development of an integrated platform.By drawing from established practices and steps in digital transformation formulated by scholars and research institutions, this study outlines a proposed implementation process for Company B’s supply chain digital transformation, encompassing current state analysis, goal setting, resource planning, platform development, safeguard measures, and performance evaluation.Anticipated evaluation results indicate that the proposed digital transformation strategies in Company B’s supply chain yield positive outcomes, providing valuable insights and references for other enterprises in devising and implementing their own transformation strategies. This study provides analytical insights into supply chain issues in electronic contract manufacturing firms from a supply chain management perspective. It offers practical guidelines for devising supply chain digital transformation strategies in the electronic contract manufacturing industry. These findings are beneficial for enhancing the management efficiency of supply chain digital transformation in electronic contract manufacturing firms and improving the overall level of supply chain management in this industry.
