In the context of economic globalization,enterprises continue to expand outward to build a more competitive supply chain.While gaining competitive advantage,enterprises are also facing more risks and uncertainties than before.Unexpected damage events from all links of the supply chain need enterprises to explore new ways to deal with.This is because,if not handled properly,the company will be trapped in poor business and financial performance.Therefore,in order to better cope with the increased risks associated with complex supply chains,enterprises urgently need new ways to manage resources and information related to suppliers.As a key node department connecting the buyer and supplier in the upstream of the supply chain,purchasing plays an important role in the management of resources and information related to suppliers.Existing studies have found that communication,collaboration and integration with suppliers are conducive to the improvement of supply chain resilience,but only focusing on existing suppliers may not be conducive to the long-term development of supply chain resilience.Further discussion is needed to explore the relationship between purchasing ambidexterity and supply chain resilience.Taking manufacturing enterprises in China as the research object,the influence mechanism of purchasing ambidexterity on supply chain resilience is discussed.Based on the binary theory and combined with the relevant literature on purchasing ambidexterity and supply chain resilience,this paper proposes that the binary activities of purchasing,namely exploitative purchasing and exploratory purchasing,can be used as a way to improve the supply chain resilience.Then,according to the resource-based view,the framework of the mechanism of purchasing ambidexterity on supply chain resilience is deduced,and the role of supply chain connectivity and information sharing in purchasing ambidexterity and supply chain resilience is further analyzed and clarified.Secondly,focusing on the five variables involved in the conceptual model,taking domestic and foreign mature scales as references and combining with enterprise practice and research scenarios,the scales to which each variable belongs are revised and adjusted,and questionnaires are finally formed and issued.The final data of the questionnaire came from218 Chinese manufacturing enterprises.Multiple regression method and Bootstrap method were used to test the hypotheses.The results show that:(1)purchasing ambidexterity positively promotes the improvement of supply chain resilience,and the improvement of exploitative purchasing and exploratory purchasing on supply chain resilience is verified.(2)The mediating role of supply chain connectivity and information sharing in purchasing ambidexterity and supply chain resilience is verified,that is,supply chain connectivity and information sharing play a mediating role in exploitative purchasing and supply chain resilience,and supply chain connectivity and information sharing play a mediating role in exploratory purchasing and supply chain resilience.(3)It is verified that the intermediary chain formed by supply chain connectivity and information sharing plays a role in the chain mediation of purchasing ambidexterity and supply chain resilience,that is,the intermediary chain formed by supply chain connectivity and information sharing plays a role in the chain mediation of exploitative purchasing and supply chain resilience,and the intermediary chain formed by supply chain connectivity and information sharing plays a role in the chain mediation of exploratory purchasing and supply chain resilience.The research results show that the high level of bivariate activities carried out at the same time can promote the improvement of short-term and long-term supply chain resilience to some extent,and can also ensure the inter-connectivity of the upstream supply chain and realize the smooth flow of information through the construction of information sharing channels and the realization of sufficient information sharing.This research result has a positive contribution to the supply chain risk management and the theoretical research related to purchasing and supply management.It also reminds enterprises to pay attention to the purchaing department and use the purchasing department to better manage the resources and information related to suppliers,so as to provide new ideas for improving the supply chain resilience. |
