With the vigorous development of digital economy in recent years,Chinese policies have repeatedly mentioned the need to increase investment in the development of digital and intelligent technologies,accelerate the process of digitization and build a digital China.Major enterprises implement digital transformation strategy one after another,and enterprises implement digital transformation mainly through business reform,organizational structure adjustment and value chain upgrade to expand new core competitiveness,and the implementation of these measures will also affect the change of internal and external costs of enterprises,and enterprise boundaries will also be affected by this change.This paper takes Lenovo Group as an example to analyze the influence path and consequences of digital transformation on enterprise boundary remolding.Lenovo Group has implemented the digital transformation strategy since2014,and basically completed the transformation by 2019,and has successfully become the leader and enabler of digital transformation.The success of Lenovo Group’s digital transformation strategy will be an excellent case study of the impact of digital transformation on enterprise boundaries.In this paper,the process reengineering theory and contingency theory are used to analyze the path of enterprise digital transformation,and the transaction cost theory and enterprise capability theory are used to analyze the impact of digitalization on enterprise boundary remolding.This paper mainly analyzes from the following three parts: firstly,from the analysis of the motivation and path of Lenovo Group’s implementation of digital transformation strategy;secondly,from the analysis of the impact of digital transformation on enterprise boundaries,mainly from the internal and external transaction costs.Finally,the change of business performance of Lenovo Group after the digital transformation and the change of enterprise boundary were analyzed,and the VAS value added method was adopted for analysis.The analysis found that Lenovo Group carried out digital transformation through the whole value chain upgrading,the establishment of "end-edge-cloud-network" architecture system,ecological cooperation to facilitate transformation and upgrading to an intelligent leader and enabler path.Digital transformation reduced the internal transaction cost and increased the external transaction cost,so Lenovo Group was more inclined to self-control and expand the enterprise boundary.Finally,the analysis of the economic consequences of digital transformation on enterprise boundaries shows that digital transformation affects the business performance of enterprises.The analysis finds that the business performance of Lenovo Group has been improving since the implementation of digital transformation,and the growth of corporate profits also affects the change of enterprise boundaries.The EVA value-added method analysis verifies that the impact of digital transformation on Lenovo Group’s enterprise boundaries is indeed expansion.
