| In the current international environment, the global value chain is gradually moving towards regionalization and digitization, and the trade situation is more complex than before. Moreover, the long-standing dilemma of "low-end lock-in" faced by developing countries on the global value chain still exists. In such a development context, digital trade has emerged as an emerging form of trade. In recent years,China’s digital trade has developed rapidly, resulting in a qualitative leap in both volume and quality. Therefore,it is expected to become an important means of restoring stable order in the global value chain.Based on this concept, this article starts from the perspective of the impact of digital trade on China’s position in the global value chain.Firstly,it discusses the current development status and trends of digital trade and the global value chain, and analyzes the driving factors that affect digital trade and the global value chain. It is concluded that whether it is digital trade or the global value chain, technological level has always been the dominant factor affecting its development.Subsequently,in the mechanism analysis section, factor analysis was first used to calculate the level of digital trade in various provinces and cities in China. For the global value chain, two indicators were used:export technology complexity and domestic export value added rate. Finally, the relationship between digital trade and the global value chain was explained by citing the Cobb Douglas function and the "smile" curve. Then in the empirical part,we selected panel data of 28 provinces and municipalities in China from 2013 to 2018,and used the mixed model of two-way fixed effects and single fixed effects to conduct regression analysis and test. The results of this article found that digital trade does have a positive promoting effect on China’s global value chain status, and vigorously developing digital trade can help China accelerate its escape from the dilemma of being in the middle and lower reaches of the global value chain; In addition, from the perspective of the eastern, central and western regions, the development of digital trade in the eastern region can more promote the upgrading of China’s global value chain status, while the development of digital trade in the central and western regions will have an inverted "U" shaped impact on the global value chain status, which will be improved first and then hindered.Subsequently, the robustness test and heterogeneity test of the article further confirmed these two arguments.Based on the above research conclusions, this article proposes that major enterprises should increase innovation and investment in scientific research technology, and accelerate the deep integration of traditional industries and digital industries; The government should increase policy support for the development of digital trade, facilitate the sharing of resources between East,West, and East, thereby promoting the coordinated development of regional digital trade and driving China’s rise in the global value chain. |
