Research On The Development Strategy Of Bus Transportation In Chengdu Rail Era

In order to practice the new development concept of park city demonstration area,Chengdu city adhere to the people as the centre,the supply-side structural reform of public transport as the main line,and constantly improve the quality of public transport services,the level of public transport services continue to improve,bus has also been unprecedented prosperous development,the core area of Chengdu city bus network scale,operation service level ranked among the forefront of the domestic.In September 2010,the first phase of Chengdu Metro Line 1 was officially opened,marking the beginning of the rail transit era in Chengdu.In the context of the accelerated formation of the rail network,the changing travel structure of the public and the changing positioning of public transport in Chengdu,the public’s demand for high-quality public transport is growing,and the bottlenecks in the operation of bus have become apparent,with competitiveness and attractiveness weakening and passenger traffic continuing to decline.In this regard,there is an urgent need to study the development strategy of bus,to transform and upgrade the existing bus system,and to continuously improve the level of bus services and competitiveness.This paper analyses the development strategy of bus in Chengdu from a strategic management perspective,taking the city’s rail network as the background.Firstly,this paper explains the internal and external environment of bus in Chengdu,focusing on the competitive environment of bus in the rail era,followed by a problem-oriented analysis of the problems in the development of bus in Chengdu.Secondly,the internal and external environments of bus were quantitatively analysed using the EFE and IFE matrices,and the opportunities,threats,strengths and weaknesses of bus were analysed and summarised using the SWOT analysis,resulting in four alternative strategies,and then the QSPM matrix analysis and strategy screening were used to derive the ST strategic direction for the development of bus and make the overall development of bus in Chengdu.The strategy is then selected using QSPM matrix analysis and strategy screening.Finally,the findings of the study are combined with the findings of the analysis to propose measures for the implementation and safeguarding of bus strategy in Chengdu from various aspects,such as the structure of bus network,capacity allocation and service supply.
