Research On Urban Shrinkage And Transformation Development Of Resource-based Small Town

With the continuous advancement of the urbanization process in recent years,the population and industries continue to concentrate in large and medium-sized cities,and a large number of small towns have experienced urban shrinkage mainly characterized by population and economy.The shrinkage of cities and towns restricts the realization of my country’s rural revitalization strategy and the development of local economy,and how to resolve the shrinkage and subsequent development of resource-based small towns will be the future research trend and focus.This thesis takes Wanchao Town,Shizhu County,Chongqing City as the research object,and finds out the shrinkage characteristics of Wanchao Town through the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods,and then uses the comparative analysis method to learn from the advanced experience of other towns in the transformation and development.The method and transformation development strategy of Wanchao Town to deal with urban shrinkage are put forward in a targeted manner.This thesis first sorts out a large number of relevant domestic and foreign literature,clarifies the relevant meanings of resource-based towns and urban shrinkage,and summarizes the research progress.Using the development cycle theory of resource-based cities,the development stages of Wanchao Town are divided,and the development of Wanchao Town is divided into four periods:construction,development and maturity,and the definition of Wanchao Town as a resource-based town is clarified.Secondly,the urban shrinkage of Wanchao Town is quantitatively analyzed from three aspects of population status,economic development and social situation.After establishing a comprehensive evaluation system and analyzing it,the comprehensive shrinkage characteristics of Wanchao Town are obtained.From the two aspects of internal and external factors,the causes and impact mechanism of Wanchao Town’s shrinkage are analyzed from multiple dimensions.In terms of internal factors,the shrinkage of Wanchao Town is analyzed from economic development,industrial integration,public services,and living environment.External factors It mainly elaborates from several aspects such as policy change,globalization,urban siphon effect and regional peripheral competition.Finally,compare the urban shrinkage response cases of different resource-based towns.After summarizing the different coping strategies,by referring to the successful experience of other towns and combining with the actual situation of Wanchao Town,targeted policy system support,industrial function transformation,and inter-regional coordination Development and other three aspects,formulate a transformational development strategy to deal with shrinkage.
