Abstract/Summary:
The Yellow River Basin is one of the key areas for the development of facility vegetable industry in China.Its facility vegetable planting area accounts for about 42 % of the national facility vegetable planting area and is an important vegetable basket in the country.In recent years,the state has paid more attention to the development of facility vegetables in the Yellow River Basin.The No.1 Central Document of 2022 and 2023 both proposed to strengthen the green development of agriculture,increase the control of agricultural non-point source pollution,and increase agricultural investment.In recent years,with the continuous development of facility vegetable cucumbers,the input of agricultural inputs such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides has also increased rapidly,directly or indirectly increasing carbon emissions and nitrogen and phosphorus emissions.Therefore,how to effectively improve the development quality and efficiency of facility cucumber in the Yellow River Basin,reduce pollution and protect ecology is a major practical problem.This paper takes cucumber,which accounts for a large proportion of facility vegetable production in the Yellow River Basin,as the research object,conducts an in-depth study on its green total factor productivity and its influencing factors,and puts forward policies and suggestions based on the research conclusions.This paper collects relevant concepts and theories,and provides data and theoretical support for subsequent research through the analysis of input-output data of facility cucumber.Then,the land cost,production cost,material and service cost,and fertilizer input per mu of facility cucumber were selected as input indicators,the yield per mu of facility cucumber was used as the expected output indicator,and the carbon emission and agricultural non-point source pollution per mu of facility cucumber were used as the undesirable output indicator.The SBM-GML index model was used to measure the green total factor productivity of facility cucumber in the Yellow River Basin from 2011 to 2021,and it was decomposed into two parts : green technology progress and green technology efficiency.The green development of facility cucumber in the Yellow River Basin was discussed,and the Yellow River Basin was divided into upper,middle and lower reaches.Conduct convergence test;finally,the Tobit model is constructed to analyze the influencing factors of green total factor productivity of cucumber in the Yellow River Basin.The study found that :(1)In recent years,the green development of facility cucumber industry has achieved initial results,but the measured green total productivity is always less than total factor productivity.It can be seen that the results measured by ignoring undesired output will be higher than the actual level.(2)Green total factor productivity of facility cucumber in the Yellow River Basin is mainly caused by the lack of green technological progress.(3)The convergence test of green total factor productivity of facility cucumber in the Yellow River Basin was carried out from the overall and regional levels.The results showed that there was no σ convergence trend in each facility cucumber producing area,and there was no divergence trend from the specific indicators.There is an absolute β convergence trend of cucumber in the Yellow River Basin,that is,there is a unified steady-state level in the development of cucumber production in the Yellow River Basin;then,the conditional βconvergence test was carried out,and it was found that there was no conditional βconvergence trend in the Yellow River Basin,the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River.Only the lower reaches of the Yellow River had conditional β convergence,that is,after considering the differences in the production conditions of cucumber facilities in various regions,only the green total factor productivity of cucumber facilities in the lower reaches of the Yellow River would converge to the steady-state level.(4)Labor market value,human capital level and agricultural fiscal expenditure have a significant positive impact on the green total factor productivity of facility cucumber producing areas in the Yellow River Basin;the mechanization level is significant but has no significant effect on the development of facility cucumber.The urbanization rate,the disaster rate,and the amount of pure fertilizer have a significant negative impact on the green total factor productivity of protected cucumber in the Yellow River Basin;finally,according to the research conclusions,the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from six aspects : improving the level of green technology progress,increasing human capital investment,increasing the control of agricultural inputs such as chemical fertilizers,increasing agricultural fiscal expenditure,coordinating the relationship between facility vegetable industry and urbanization,and improving the supervision system to promote the green development of facility cucumber.
