Research On The Impact Of Agricultural Technology Services On Farmers’ Income

Farmers’ income has always been a difficult point in the "three rural" issue.With the acceleration of the aging process of rural society,the continuous flow of rural labor to cities,and the continuous reduction of cultivated land area,it is difficult for rural leftbehind labor to maintain traditional management methods to ensure the sustained growth of farmers’ income.As an important innovation in agricultural management,agricultural technical services are an effective way to save agricultural labor and achieve cost saving and efficiency increase.In recent years,in order to ensure the sustained growth of farmers’ income,the country has begun to vigorously promote the popularization and application of agricultural technology services among farmers,and has successively issued a number of policies to accelerate the development of agricultural technology services,which play an increasingly important role in the agricultural production process.The supply entities of agricultural technology services include the government,product buyers,agricultural material sellers,and leading enterprises.The role of different types of agricultural technology service providers in the agricultural production process varies,and their impact on the agricultural production process is extremely uneven.Compared to other types of technical service providers,the agricultural technology services provided by the government are more widespread and powerful.How to balance the roles of different types of agricultural technology guidance services in the agricultural production process has become an urgent problem that needs to be solved.In view of this,it is of great significance to explore the impact of different types of agricultural technology services on farmers’ income for promoting agricultural development and promoting common prosperity.Based on the definition of agricultural technology services and other concepts,guided by the theory of farmers’ behavior and the theory of specialized division of labor,this article empirically analyzes the impact of agricultural technology services on farmers’ income based on the agricultural community survey questionnaire in the "China Family Database" of Zhejiang University.The main research content is as follows:(1)The development of agricultural technology services and the current situation of farmers’ income.Clean and organize the questionnaire data,and combine the questionnaire data to sort out the basic situation of the surveyed farmers,including whether they have received agricultural technology services,the supply entities of agricultural technology services,and the income situation of farmers;(2)Empirical analysis of the impact of agricultural technology services on farmers’ income.Select appropriate indicators from the questionnaire data as dependent variables,independent variables,and control variables,and use multiple linear regression and propensity index score matching models to explore the impact of whether to accept agricultural technology guidance services on farmers’ income.Based on this,further explore the heterogeneity of the impact of different types of agricultural technology guidance services on farmers’ income;(3)Empirical analysis of the impact of agricultural technology services on the income gap of farmers.Using RIF grouping regression,this paper explores whether agricultural technology guidance services can significantly reduce the income gap between farmers from different dimensions such as Gini coefficient,quantile and variance,and the heterogeneity of the impact of different types of technology guidance services on the income gap between farmers.Through this study,it was found that receiving agricultural technology guidance services has a significant positive impact on farmers’ income;Compared to the technical guidance services provided by product acquirers,agricultural material sellers,and leading enterprises,receiving agricultural technical guidance services provided by the government has a significant positive impact on farmers’ income;Furthermore,receiving agricultural technology guidance services can significantly reduce the income gap between farmers.Compared with the other three types of agricultural technology guidance services,government provided agricultural technology guidance services can significantly increase the income gap between farmers.Finally,on the basis of the conclusions of this study,the following policy recommendations are given:(1)accelerate the popularization of agricultural technology guidance services among farmers in China;(2)The government source should be the main body,and other channels should participate together.At the same time,the service objects of agricultural technology guidance provided by the government should be inclined to low-income farmers;(3)On the premise of keeping the government as the main provider,other sources providing agricultural technology guidance services should also actively participate and constantly improve the quality of agricultural technology guidance services.
