The global economy is becoming more volatile.Technological developments such as the Internet,the Internet of Things and big data are constantly changing the mode of industrial development,impacting the original mode of production and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.Industrial transformation and upgrading mainly involve the optimization of product and technology structure,industrial organization structure,industrial layout and industrial structure.Enterprises in different industries should carry out transformation and upgrading in key aspects according to the characteristics of industrial development and their own needs.The problem of "big industry,small enterprise" exists widely in Chinese household industry.The industry space is large,but the household chain brand enterprises are less and occupy a small market share.With the development of the national economy,the weakening of the impact of the epidemic,the increase of second-hand housing transactions and other factors,the home furnishing industry has a good prospect for future development.However,it is also affected by the online shopping and a slowdown in real estate.Home furnishing enterprises should seek more efficient development methods.The asset-light operation mode emphasizes that enterprises master key resources such as technology,brand,marketing channel and management experience,which helps enterprises optimize their asset structure,maximize their value by utilizing the resources they have mastered,and enhance their industrial competitiveness.The successful implementation of asset-light operation by enterprises represented by Apple,Nike and Wanda provides experience for other enterprises.The case enterprise selected in this paper is Chinese home industry leading enterprise Red Star Macalline.In order to promote their own development,they speed up the layout of asset-light business and put forward the strategy of "asset light,operation heavy and leverage reduction".The asset-light operation of Red Star Macalline is mainly to accelerate the expansion of entrusted shopping malls and franchising home building materials projects through brand influence,so as to increase the market share.In addition,by expanding categories,integrating home decoration business and developing new retail,we can strengthen management and improve operation efficiency,and adjust the original operation mode according to the general characteristics of the asset-light operation mode.This paper first reviews the theoretical viewpoints of domestic and foreign scholars on the asset-light operation mode,the motivation of the asset-light operation mode and the financial performance of the asset-light operation mode,and then explains the relevant concepts and theoretical basis to provide theoretical support for the case study.In the part of case study,the motivation and specific content of Red Star Macalline’s implementation of asset-light operation are analyzed successively,and the financial performance of its asset-light operation is found through financial index method and efficacy coefficient method,and optimization suggestions are put forward according to the analysis content.Finally,this paper concludes that:(1)The motivation of implementing asset-light operation of Red Star Macalline is to coordinate with Chinese economic development mode,maintain industrial competitiveness,accelerate enterprise development,and relieve the pressure of asset-heavy operation;(2)After the implementation of asset-light operation,Red Star Macalline’s solvency,profitability and operation capacity need to be further improved due to the impact of the epidemic and real estate,and its future development capacity is good;(3)The problems existing in the long-term asset-heavy operation mode of Red Star Macalline are difficult to be solved in a short time,especially the debt problem.At present,the asset-light operation practice of Red Star Macalline is not mature.In the future,the remaining problems of the asset-heavy mode should be gradually solved by improving the asset-light degree. |
