| Under the call of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" issued by The State Council,innovation and entrepreneurship,as an important fulcrum to drive economic growth,has become a hot topic in the society.Under the background of this era,entrepreneurship in rural areas has become a new hotspot.Entrepreneurship in rural areas can help farmers increase their income,increase their local employment rate and promote the development of rural society.Therefore,stimulating entrepreneurial vitality in rural areas is conducive to narrowing the gap between urban and rural development,and is a powerful measure to solve the "three rural" problems.The Chinese government attaches great importance to innovation and entrepreneurship in rural areas.At the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,encouraging entrepreneurship was included in the employment policy for the first time to encourage rural residents to start their own businesses.Later,the government issued a series of policy documents to support farmers’ innovation and entrepreneurship,making encouraging and supporting farmers’ entrepreneurship an important measure for rural revitalization.On the other hand,with the advent of the Internet era,entrepreneurial activities carried out with the help of the Internet have become one of the most dynamic forms of innovation and entrepreneurship.In rural areas,whether the use of the Internet by farmers promotes the occurrence of entrepreneurial activities in rural areas and through what mechanisms,these constitute research topics with theoretical and practical significance.This paper selects 2018 Chinese families track(CFPS)data,and use the variables selected problem type bivariate Probit model is established,through empirical analysis the farmers Internet applications for family business impact study,the comprehensive control of the head of the household personal characteristics,family background,characteristics and social external environment on the basis of characteristic variables,The regression results of significant effect are obtained.The results show that the use of the Internet has a significant positive impact on farmers’ entrepreneurial actions.Compared with farmers who do not use the Internet,the probability of entrepreneurship of farmers who use the Internet increases by18.9%.In terms of heterogeneity,this paper finds that: the higher the intensity of Internet use,the greater the probability of entrepreneurship of peasant households;The preference of Internet use can have different influence on farmers’ entrepreneurial choice,and the use of Internet in business activities can promote the occurrence of entrepreneurial activities most.In addition,this paper further divides the social network of farmer families into two levels of "strong relationship" and "weak relationship",and selects two proxy variables,namely,the expenditure of family favors and gifts,and whether they are members of professional or nonprofessional organization teams,to make empirical regression on the entrepreneurial choices of sample farmers.To explore the mediating effect of social network on farmers’ Internet use and family entrepreneurship choice.The empirical results show that the mediating effect of "strong relationship" is significant,and the "weak relationship" fails the mediating test,indicating that Internet use mainly promotes the occurrence of entrepreneurial activities of peasant households through strengthening the "strong relationship" social network of peasant households.Based on the analysis of the empirical results,this paper puts forward two suggestions:from the government side,first,improve the Internet infrastructure construction in rural areas.Second,strengthen government functions and optimize the entrepreneurial environment in rural areas.Farmers themselves,first,rely on the Internet,pay attention to the role of farmers’ family social network.Second,improve farmers’ own entrepreneurial ability. |
