Since the 21 st century,with the continuous upgrading of the domestic consumption structure and people’s enthusiasm for tourism and leisure,more and more people’s pursuit of accommodation has changed from the original economy hotel to the quality trend hotel.Domestic economy hotels can no longer meet the needs of a new generation of consumers,related brand hotels began to gradually transform to mid-range hotels,foreign brands are also vigorously entering China’s mid-range chain hotel market,the market competition of mid-range chain hotels is becoming increasingly fierce,so mid-range chain hotels want to be invincible in the competition,need to strengthen the management of key positions in the store,especially the management of performance.As the backbone of hotel operations,the manager’s management level,skill level and working attitude are closely related to the hotel’s business performance.However,the training of store managers usually takes a long time,and if the performance management methods of store managers are not used properly,it is easy to dampen the work enthusiasm of store managers and even lead to their loss.Therefore,attention should be paid to the problems existing in the performance management process of hotel store managers and corrected in a timely manner,so as to give full play to the role of performance management and help hotels achieve business goals.This paper takes A mid-range chain hotel-famous mid-range ethnic chain hotel as the research object,first introduces the overview and performance management status of the hotel,and briefly analyzes its industrial environment.Secondly,through a questionnaire survey of the store manager of the hotel and an interview with the middle and senior management of the group on the performance management of the store manager,it was found that the performance management of the store manager of a mid-range chain hotel had the following problems: unreasonable performance target setting,lack of effective performance coaching,insufficient scientific performance appraisal methods,and lack of motivation for performance results.Thirdly,combined with the results of questionnaire analysis to make a detailed attribution analysis,the problems in the performance management of store managers of mid-range hotel chain A are due to the lack of comprehensive understanding of performance management concepts by senior managers,and there are a series of problems in goal setting,performance coaching,performance feedback and performance result application.Finally,in view of the existing problems,the performance management system of the store manager of A mid-range hotel chain is proposed to optimize the performance management system in order to better help it improve the overall performance level of the company.This paper hopes to sort out the current situation of the performance management of store managers of A mid-range chain hotels,and propose an effective optimization scheme for the performance management of store managers of A mid-range chain hotels,and at the same time provide reference for the performance management of similar hotel managers.
