Research On The Impact Of Network Governance On Supply Chain Flexibility

The current accelerating pace of technological change,increasing fluctuations in supply and demand,and intensifying competition have posed great challenges to supply chain flexibility.In this context,cooperation and collaboration between supply chain enterprises have become a strategic choice for enterprises to enhance supply chain flexibility due to their ability to resist uncertainty risks in market competition.How to achieve collaborative effects between supply chain enterprises through network governance and enhance supply chain flexibility has important research value.In existing research on the effects of network governance,most of them focus on technological innovation networks and analyze the impact of network governance on government procurement,enterprise performance,and other aspects from a single perspective of relationships or contracts.There is a lack of analysis of the impact on supply chain flexibility from the perspective of relationship and contract integration,and there is also a lack of revealing the mechanism of supply chain collaboration between network governance and supply chain flexibility,Therefore,combining the theory of supply chain network governance to reveal the improvement path of supply chain flexibility is of great significance.This article first introduces the theoretical basis from two aspects:supply chain network governance theory and supply chain collaboration theory.It also reviews the existing literature on the connotation and relationship of network governance,supply chain flexibility,and supply chain collaboration,and proposes research questions to lay a theoretical foundation for the subsequent analysis.Secondly,define the main concepts of network governance,supply chain flexibility,and supply chain collaboration,explore the impact of network governance on supply chain flexibility,as well as the mediating mechanism of supply chain collaboration,and propose research hypotheses.Finally,using a questionnaire survey method and manufacturing enterprises as research samples,a structural equation model was used to examine the impact of network governance on supply chain collaboration and supply chain flexibility,as well as the specific mechanism of the sub dimensions of supply chain collaboration.Research has shown that in the relationship between network governance and supply chain flexibility,both contract governance and relationship governance positively affect supply chain flexibility;In the relationship between network governance and supply chain collaboration and supply chain flexibility,except for the insignificant impact of contract governance on strategic collaboration,both contract governance and relationship governance positively affect supply chain collaboration,and supply chain collaboration plays a partial mediating role in the impact of contract governance and relationship governance on supply chain flexibility,respectively.This article verifies the impact of network governance on supply chain flexibility and introduces the intermediary variable supply chain collaboration,revealing the mechanism of contract governance and relationship governance on supply chain flexibility.It enriches the research on the path to enhance supply chain flexibility in academia,and provides reference suggestions for China’s manufacturing industry to promote supply chain collaboration and enhance supply chain flexibility by leveraging network governance mechanisms.
