The Influence Of Trade Facilitation Level Of RCEP Member Countries On The Quality Of China’s Manufacturing Export Products

In today’s world,thanks to the concerted efforts of multilateral,regional,bilateral and unilateral,restrictions on international trade have been greatly reduced and the global trading system has become increasingly open.The smoothness of trade can be seen from many aspects,including but not limited to: logistics efficiency,customs supervision,government supervision and the popularity of e-commerce,which are all important indicators to measure the ease of trade.By significantly improving the quality of export products,it enhances the added value and international competitiveness of Chinese export products.In addition,it will also help to promote the supply-side structural reform of export trade,thus effectively boosting the country’s position in the global economy.The RCEP will bring an unprecedented free trade environment to the world.The signing of the RCEP will become an important mechanism for promoting global economic integration.It will not only greatly improve the current trade and investment environment,but also greatly promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation,unleash future development potential and deliver benefits to all countries in the world.This paper will conduct an in-depth study on how the trade facilitation policies implemented by RCEP countries improve the quality of China’s export commodities,and analyze the influencing mechanism and related factors.This article summarizes the results of past studies on trade facilitation,including its measurement methods,results and impact on the quality of export products.Through this study,an in-depth analysis will be made on how the ease of trade between RCEP member states affects the quality of China’s manufacturing exports,with a view to providing more effective policy advice and technical support for trading partners,so as to promote the economic development of both sides and achieve a win-win situation.The average arithmetic method is used to calculate and finally get the level of trade convenience of RCEP member countries.Meanwhile,the CEPII-BACI database was used to calculate the quality of China’s exports to RCEP member countries during 2010-2019.In this paper,the core variable to explain the quality of China’s export products is the level of trade facilitation.The control variables are the per capita GDP of the importing country,market size index,exchange rate and tariff level.The fixed-effect model and least square method are used for analysis,and the robustness test is conducted by deleting the sample period and changing the model.In addition,we also conduct endogenous tests by taking lag 1 and lag 2 of trade facilitation.This paper proposes that trade facilitation can improve the quality of export products by improving intermediate goods,market competition effect and income effect.The results show that the overall level of trade facilitation among RCEP members has improved,and that the level of improvement is closely related to the level of economic development.There are significant differences in the quality of Chinese exports to RCEP member countries;The quality of exports from China’s manufacturing sector is driven by the level of trade facilitation in RCEP member countries,which is mainly attributed to the income effect and transaction cost effect of trade facilitation in these countries.Finally,this paper providing some advice for promoting the level of trade facilitation and enhancing the quality of our manufacturing export products.
