At present, the digital economy with digital technology and data elements as its core is booming, which has a profound impact on economic resilience.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces from 2011 to 2020,this thesis uses entropy method to construct the evaluation index system of digital economy and economic resilience. Then, this thesis measures the level of both to test the effect of the digital economy on economic resilience. The results indicate that the development of digital economy significantly promote the economic resilience. In terms of the mechanism, the thesis empirically examines the influence of social security level on the digital economy and economic resilience by moderation model. The results of the study found that social security plays a positive moderating effect in the process of digital economy affecting economic resilience. The research conclusion is still valid by using the method of variation replacement and system GMM for robustness test. Moreover the thesis introduces financial regulatory variables to study the moderating effect of digital economy on economic resilience.Financial regulation plays a significant negative moderating effect in their relationship.Interms of heterogeneity, according to economy development level and geographical location,31 provinces are divided into eastern, middle and western regions. The results show that the impact of digital economy in eastern provinces on economic resilience is significantly higher than that in western and middle provinces; From the perspective of heterogeneity of population aging, the impact of digital economy on economic resilience in severe-aging provinces is significantly higher than that in moderately-aging provinces, while it is not significantin in low-aging provinces. Therefore, the contribution of this thesis is to reveal the internal impact of China’s digital economy level on economic resilience.Combined with the current situation of digital economy in China, this thesis put forward policy recommendations for improving economic resilience from the aspects of making good use of the digital economy, building a multi-actors-cooperative management mode, developing inclusive social security, transforming into the "inclusive and prudent" regulation, effective coordination between regions, and developing digital technology to adapt to aging. |
