| The New Western Land And Sea Corridor connects the Silk Road Economic Belt to the north,the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road to the south,and cooperatively connects the Yangtze River Economic Belt.It is a strategic gateway to the sea in the west of China.In recent years,the New Western Land And Sea Corridor region has followed the open development concept of "promoting logistics through channels,promoting trade through logistics,and promoting industry through trade",and has driven the development of international trade between provinces and cities along the line,ASEAN,and even the entire Asia Pacific region with increasing logistics and transportation capacity.At the beginning of2023,after the pandemic,the country reopened,and the international trade between the New Western Land And Sea Corridor and ASEAN entered a new stage.In recent years,the scale of import and export trade between the New Western Land And Sea Corridor region and ASEAN has continued to expand,and the growth of trade has stimulated the increase in logistics market demand.The expansion of logistics demand requires improving logistics services and improving logistics efficiency to match.Therefore,how to improve the logistics efficiency of the New Western Land And Sea Corridor region,and thereby enhance the growth of import and export trade between the New Western Land And Sea Corridor region and ASEAN,is a question worthy of in-depth discussion.At this point,it is of great significance to quantitatively evaluate the logistics efficiency of the New Western Land And Sea Corridor region,and further analyze its impact on ASEAN international trade on this basis.This is of great significance for improving the logistics of the New Western Land And Sea Corridor region and promoting trade between provinces along the line and ASEAN.Based on the above background,this article takes 12 major provinces along the Western New Land And Sea Corridor of Chongqing,Guizhou,Inner Mongolia,Sichuan,Xinjiang,Yunnan,Ningxia,Shaanxi,Guangxi,Qinghai,Gansu,and Hainan as the research objects.Starting from the evaluation of logistics efficiency,it seeks the relationship between logistics efficiency and ASEAN import and export in the provinces along the new land sea corridor in the west,and empirically analyzes the impact of logistics efficiency on their import and export trade with ASEAN.After sorting out and summarizing relevant theories and literature,this study first conducted a qualitative analysis of the development of the logistics industry and the current status of its import and export trade with the ten ASEAN countries in the Western Land and Sea New Passage from 2020-2021,and then reasonably constructed a logistics efficiency evaluation index system for the Western Land and Sea New Passage.The DEA-Malmquist index model was selected to conduct a static and dynamic analysis of the logistics efficiency of the Western Land and Sea New Passage,respectively,the spatiotemporal distribution law is visually expressed.Next,this article uses quantitative methods to conduct empirical analysis and expand the trade gravity model.It introduces variables such as the logistics efficiency index of the Western Land Sea New Passage,the trade dependency of the Western Land Sea New Passage,and the trade tightness between the Western Land Sea New Passage and ASEAN countries to construct a panel data model,and studies the impact of the logistics efficiency index of the Western Land Sea New Passage and its sub indicators on ASEAN import and export trade volume.The study found that the logistics efficiency of the New Western Land and Sea Corridor has a positive impact on ASEAN’s import and export trade.The regression results show that each 1% increase in the logistics efficiency index of the New Western Land And Sea Corridor can promote an increase of 0.818% in the import and export trade between The New Western Land And Sea Corridor and ASEAN countries.This is consistent with the previous theoretical analysis that improving logistics efficiency can improve transportation efficiency and quality,reduce international trade costs,and promote the in-depth development of trade between countries.Finally,based on the above research results,we propose strategic suggestions for optimizing the logistics efficiency of provinces along the new land sea corridor in the western region and expanding their import and export trade with ASEAN countries in the new era.Firstly,we should strengthen the logistics construction in the western region,especially in non border regions.Second,China actively cooperates with multinational logistics companies to strengthen the introduction of foreign capital.Third,make full use of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area to reduce logistics costs.Fourth,accelerate the construction of the smart logistics platform,with a view to providing reference for improving the logistics efficiency of provinces along the new land sea corridor in the west and expanding the trade between the western region of China and ASEAN. |
