The Impact Of Logistics Performance On South Korea’s Import And Export Trade

In recent years,the Korean economy has formed a three-dimensional and multi-level pattern of opening up,and foreign trade has developed rapidly.According to the data released by the ministry of industry and trade of South Korea,the total import and export trade of South Korea reached 1.14 trillion us dollars in 2018.The rapid development of South Korea’s import and export trade is inseparable from South Korea’s modern logistics industry.At present,domestic and foreign scholars agree that modern logistics is the accelerator of economic development.After introducing foreign advanced technology and learning foreign advanced experience,South Korea’s logistics environment is still at a high level in the international scope.At present,a modern logistics hub supported by three logistics systems,namely seaport,airport and land,has been preliminarily formed.In 2018,the added value of South Korea’s logistics industry has increased to nearly 91.3 billion us dollars.After years of development,South Korea’s logistics infrastructure is relatively developed,ensuring its favorable position in the international logistics system.Considering that the level of logistics development is a multi-dimensional concept,on the one hand,it should include Korean cargo handling volume,cargo turnover and other logistics scale variables.On the one hand,logistics infrastructure variables including port cargo throughput,railway per unit area,kilometer length and so on are needed.Therefore,this paper constructs the logistics performance level index,from the two dimensions of logistics scale variable and logistics infrastructure variable in South Korea,and USES the multi-level analysis method to construct the substitution variable by "giving weight" to the comprehensive index.This paper focuses on the following questions:first,how to measure the level of the development of South Korea’s logistics industry?Second,how to construct a reasonable logistics performance variable?What is the impact of logistics performance on Korea’s import and export trade?Specifically,this paper mainly studies the following parts:First,theoretical analysis.This paper mainly discusses the main influencing factors of international trade,logistics and logistics performance and the impact of logistics performance on international trade.And select circulation cost theory,cost theory,new system economics theory,new trade and new trade theory and logistics industry division of labor theory.This paper discusses the influence of logistics performance on international trade,which lays a solid theoretical foundation for the empirical study.Second,the status quo analysis.This paper mainly introduces the present situation of import and export trade and logistics industry in Korea.The present situation of Korean import and export trade is mainly introduced from the aspects of import and export trade scale and major trading countries.The current situation of the logistics industry in South Korea is mainly analyzed from several aspects,such as the scale of the logistics volume,the added value of the logistics industry in South Korea,and the current situation of the number of employees in the logistics industry in South Korea,Third,empirical analysis.In this paper,by constructing the panel regression model of different regions,the author USES the fixed effect model,system GMM model and other regression methods for empirical analysis.It is a difficult point to quantify the core explanatory variable of logistics performance in South Korea.This paper,by absorbing and drawing on the research methods of many domestic and foreign scholars,constructs logistics performance indicators by means of multi-index weighting to quantitatively measure the development level of logistics in South Korea.On this basis,the robustness and endogeneity of the model are considered,and a series of convincing conclusions are obtained.Finally,through theoretical analysis,current situation analysis and empirical analysis,this paper concludes that the improvement of logistics performance level in South Korea will indeed promote the increase of import and export trade scale in South Korea.In addition,the population size,economic development level,population variables and the scale of foreign investment in South Korea will all have an impact on the import and export trade of South Korea.The innovation of this paper mainly lies in the innovation of research Angle and research method.At present,there are not many researches on the logistics performance level in South Korea,and there are very few articles on the logistics performance of different regions in South Korea.Therefore,the research Angle of this paper is somewhat innovative.In terms of research methods,the empirical part of this paper adopts the method of multi-dimensional index weighting to measure the logistics performance level of different regions in South Korea,which is highly innovative.
