An Analysis Of Bilateral Trade Between China And Kazakhstan 2000-2021

China and Kazakhstan are land-locked countries and trade cooperation between the two countries has certain geographical advantages.Kazakhstan’s location in Central Asia has certain disadvantages in terms of economic development.By continuously strengthening trade cooperation with China,the country’s economic development can be better stimulated,which can have a positive effect on the long-term industrial development and upgrading of Kazakhstan,and only by continuously strengthening international cooperation can the vitality of the economy be better ensured.Bilateral trade cooperation between China and Kazakhstan can promote the diversification of cooperation and economic development of both countries.This thesis attempts to discover the factors influencing China-Kazakhstan trade through quantitative research methods.Firstly,the current situation of the development of bilateral trade between China and Kazakhstan and the current situation of the development of possible influencing factors of bilateral trade between China and Kazakhstan are described through two parts.Then the empirical analysis of the factors influencing the development of trade between China and Kazakhstan will be elaborated through four parts:variable selection and data sources,descriptive statistics,multiple co-integration test and ridge regression analysis.The macroeconomic data from 2000 to 2021 will be used to analyze the factors influencing the trade development between China and Kazakhstan,in which the bilateral trade volume between China and Kazakhstan will be used as the dependent variable,the total economic volume of China,the total economic volume of Kazakhstan,the turnover of China’s contracted works to Kazakhstan,the total labor force of Kazakhstan,the stock of Kazakhstan’s foreign debt,and Kazakhstan’s R&D expenditure Six factors are used as independent variables for the analysis.The results of the empirical analysis are:China’s economic volume,Kazakhstan’s economic volume,Kazakhstan’s total labor force,Kazakhstan’s foreign debt stock and Kazakhstan’s R&D expenditure have a significant positive effect on the bilateral trade volume between China and Kazakhstan.However,the turnover of China’s contracted works to Kazakhstan does not have an impact on the bilateral trade volume between China and Kazakhstan.
