With the development of economy,Xinjiang’s agricultural product processing industry has been expanding its output value, and its market competitiveness has gradually increased, and it is steadily moving towards the intensive processing of agricultural products.Although Xinjiang’s agricultural product processing industry has achieved good results,it still has some differences with the provinces with developed agricultural product processing industry in the eastern and central regions. The degree of industrial agglomeration is relatively low, which is manifested in the lack of large-scale leading enterprises, low resource allocation efficiency and imperfect supporting facilities in industrial parks. These problems not only hinder the development of agricultural products processing industry in Xinjiang, but also are not conducive to the economic growth of Xinjiang.Under this background,it is of great practical significance to study the driving factors and economic growth effects of agricultural product processing industry agglomeration in Xinjiang for optimizing the layout of agricultural product processing industry and promoting economic growth in Xinjiang.Based on the relevant literature, combined with the actual development situation, this thesis focuses on the driving factors and economic growth effects of agricultural product processing industry agglomeration in Xinjiang.Firstly, the development status of agricultural products processing industry in Xinjiang is analyzed from four aspects: agricultural resources, industrial agglomeration, development scale and economic benefits.Secondly, the present situation of agricultural product processing industry agglomeration in Xinjiang is analyzed from two aspects: evolution process and spatial layout.Secondly, the level of agricultural product processing agglomeration in Xinjiang is measured from static and dynamic angles. This thesis chooses location quotient to measure the static agglomeration degree of agricultural product processing industry in Xinjiang, and adds a time span on the basis of static agglomeration,so as to study the dynamic agglomeration process of agricultural product processing industry in Xinjiang.Thirdly, from the four dimensions of industrial base, market demand, innovation level and development environment, the driving factors of agricultural product processing industry agglomeration level in Xinjiang are explored by using grey correlation degree and principal component analysis method in turn.Fourthly, build a panel model to analyze the economic growth effect of agricultural product processing industry cluster in Xinjiang,so as to discuss the contribution of agricultural product processing industry cluster in Xinjiang to economic growth. Finally, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to improve the concentration level of agricultural product processing industry in Xinjiang and then promote economic growth.Through the above investigation and analysis, the research conclusions are as follows:(1)From the results of static analysis, the agglomeration degree of agricultural products processing industry in Xinjiang is low, although the location quotient is increasing year by year,it is still hovering at the edge of 0.5-0.7,indicating that there is still a long way to go for the development of agricultural products processing industry in Xinjiang in agglomeration.According to the results of dynamic analysis, the growth rate of six sub-sectors in Xinjiang’s agricultural product processing industry is higher than that of the whole country, which indicates that Xinjiang’s agricultural product processing industry has a strong gathering momentum and has great room for progress and development potential in the future.(2)The driving factors of agricultural products processing industry agglomeration in Xinjiang were investigated by using the grey correlation method, and the results showed that the order of the first-level driving factors was: development environment > innovation level > industrial base > market demand, which indicated that the development environment factors could drive agricultural products processing industry agglomeration in Xinjiang more. Then, three provinces and10 provinces in Xinjiang were selected from the eastern, central and western regions respectively, and the principal component analysis method was used to study, and it was found that Xinjiang was in a inferior position in terms of industrial base, market demand, innovation level and development environment.(3)The panel model is constructed to analyze the economic growth effect of agricultural product processing industry cluster in Xinjiang. It is found that the increase of agricultural product processing industry cluster by 1 unit will increase the economic growth rate of Xinjiang by 0.558 percentage points, which supports the view that agricultural product processing industry cluster has positive effects on economic growth such as division of labor, cost effect, competition effect and knowledge spillover effect. |
